It’s an incredibly tight record packed with stellar performances, production and presence throughout. The blood, sweat and tears of hip-hop run through the album, but Gibbs has once again redefined what that means.

Alfredo is a master class in rap — 35 minutes of cutthroat bars that feel like 15, leaving you hungry for another course.

The current king of rap manages, yet again, to offer a searing insight into his life, past and present. The songs on Alfredo are fun even when the themes aren't.

‘Alfredo’ excels on every front, a record that fuses a thirst for fresh innovation with a depth of love for hip-hop and rap music that is almost unparalleled. Pretty much an instant classic, it’s the sound of Freddie Gibbs finally bursting free, working with tour de force production to surge past expectations and claim his place at the absolute pinnacle.

Gibbs skates over these beats, effortlessly gliding in and out of the pocket. Even the moments of stark contrast feel natural.

Certified grown man music, being a 10 track project for any other artist would've given me a sense of doubt about the quality lacking or notCertified grown man music, being a 10 track project for any other artist would've given me a sense of doubt about the quality lacking or not enough substance in the album. Alfredo does not suffer from this preconception at all, Piñata was my personal Freddie project to date before this and I really thought it wouldn't have been topped but this album with Freddie's sharp lyrical play coinciding with his ever present gritty sub-nature portraying the drug and crime ridden life prior to music and Alchemist producing some of his finest work to date this album is a sure lock for Album of the year. Freddie continues to cement himself as one of the most decorated and consistent MCs of the modern era with a discography many will call legendary already. Expand

Excellent album. Production is so nice, and summery, especially on "Something to rap about", which is my favorite track on the album. AlthoughExcellent album. Production is so nice, and summery, especially on "Something to rap about", which is my favorite track on the album. Although Freddie raps about what he usually does, this still is an excellent album, and it's not so long that you get bored. I really don't have much to say about this record, it is excellent and one of the best albums to come out this year. Hope more collaborations between Freddie and The Alchemist will come soon. Expand

Classic Gibbs rapping with a legendary producer on the beats. Hope they make a bigger tape.
