Excellence demands excellence and Blizzard could have honored its great heritage in a better way. It remains one of the cornerstones of the strategy market, as well as an exceptional experience for any self-respecting video game lover.

Had Reforged been an optional and free graphical update, undersold and understated and a gift to fans, I doubt there would be any backlash. Instead, Blizzard suggested a revolutionary re-imagining of one of gaming’s most popular titles and failed spectacularly to deliver it. Warcraft III: Reforged does not diminish the core experience that made the game great, but its relatively modest improvements are coupled with some missing features and technical issues that make it a disappointment.

The remaster stays far below its possibilities and makes multiplayer worse than in the original. The single-player campaign is still great.

An inexplicably careless remaster, where none of the changes are unequivocally for the better and the experience is brought down further by numerous bugs and missing features.

Reforged is just a new way to play the campaign of one of the best games ever made… but that’s pretty much. Blizzard has a lot of work to do to fix this and deliver the remaster the original deserves.

Blizzard has addressed some of the complaints and criticism hurled its way, and has promised to work on many of these issues. Naturally, one must ask why the game was released in such a state, especially considering the negative attention the company has garnered over the past year with the reveal of Diablo Immortal and the Blizzard/China controversy.

There’s nothing in Reforged that keeps me hooked in. I was sad playing it. Sad that it ultimately failed. That there are so many things that could have been done better – boldly and with more polish. [03/2020, p.48]

This is an absolutely an amazing nostalgia trip for me, unlike WoW classic which immediately bored the crap out of me after 5 minutes. This is an absolutely an amazing nostalgia trip for me, unlike WoW classic which immediately bored the crap out of me after 5 minutes.

Music is improved, visuals, cinematics, etc. This is exactly what I expected and it was delivered.

On the 3rd missions in the campaign and already addicted just as I was when the game originally released. You know you have another gem when you can't turn off the game even after mythic/LFR Ny'alotha come out on the same day! Way to go Blizz!!!! Now all we can hope for is Warcraft 4 and a great new storyline. I CANNOT wait to get to the frozen throne expansion already!!!!! Almost 70 missions of single player content and can't wait to try some multiplayer after I'm done with the campaign. This is awesome. NO ONE does RTS like Blizzard.

You know something bad happened with a user score like this. Let me give my take on this as someone who was a fan of Warcraft 3:

If you run a game publishing corporation, who do you think is going to have the last laugh, ultimately? The company or the userbase? Activision and Blizzard can try as hard as they want to dodge the reality that they need their customers to be at least relatively happy and content with what they're being provided in order for the corporation to continue being profitable and stay in business. This user score tells me that this is not happening.

First off, which dummkopf decided it was okay to alter the original game's functionality to require people to purchase Warcraft 3: Reforged in order to even have access to the classic version? That was what turned me off, first of all. I don't trust Blizzard as a company anymore after this and other experiences.

You people that are in the corporate meetings to discuss the next bold move for your games. You think you're funny and clever by making people buy the game twice. You think, sitting on your pile of slowly diminishing profits and company assets, that this won't have consequences later for your company. People are going to remember this "delight" of a commercial release and will refuse to buy from anything you own or manage ever again because of experiences like this; obviously there are other complaints about the game being a giant steaming pile of dung that aren't restricted to having to buy the game twice.

Cash cows have hooves and they're not afraid to kick the milker if the cow is being abused. This is the lesson to learn today. Start respecting the needs of your customers, start living up to your big, fancy, corporate promises, and start releasing complete, finished, functional games, or us players are going to tank your entire business one game at a time. This is not a threat, this is a guarantee, and we feel more than justified based on how you've been treating us.

Really Blizzard? You made the worst game by copying everything everywhere, and missing content already

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Expand

It's even worse than Fallout 76. Apparently the BLizzard logo is no longer an indicator of quality. Congratulations.
