Warzone is packed with non-stop action that’s free-to-play and free-for-everyone. You do not need to own the full version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare to download, play and enjoy Warzone. In Battle Royale, fight to be the last squad standing while escaping the deadly gas in the swiftly closing circle with up to 150 players. In Plunder, the race is on to collect the most in-match Cash by looting across the map, taking down enemies to steal their Cash, and completing in-match Contracts. Warzone takes place in Verdansk, an expansive city with multiple named zones and well over 300 points of interest. Each zone features distinct landmarks like the Gorengard Lumber Yard or the Gora Dam; the zones take place across different environment types like cities and rural areas for unique engagements. Change up your drop location in each match to get a better lay of the land and take advantage of what Verdansk has to offer. If you need to get somewhere fast in Warzone, the best method is a vehicle. There are five vehicles all with varying levels of protection, speed, seating, and off-roading capability. Each vehicle has a health meter and when it reaches zero, the vehicle explodes and flames out. Needlessly to say, if the health of your vehicle is depleting, bail out before the impending explosion. A brilliant battle royale that in many ways copies its competitors but also brings great ideas of its own and doesn’t let you catch your breath for a second. Its connection with the regular Modern Warfare multiplayer mode is just the icing on the cake.

It’s a Call of Duty battle royale which uses the franchise’s DNA better than ever before. From the first match onward it just feels like home. [05/2020, p.46]

Activision wisely used his second chance at providing Call of Duty Battle Royale game. Besides great gunplay, players are offered with some pretty interesting innovations in the genre, such as mini objectives and fighting for a chance to get back in the Gulag.

Call of Duty: Warzone reaches new heights in battle royale by ditching backpacks and throwing me in a Gulag.

Derivative and at times off-puttingly insistent and flimsy unlocks, it's nonetheless some of Infinity Ward's most considered design in years, and a sign it's ready to get back in the fight. [Issue#346, p.102]

Warzone is, like its skull-masked, kevlar-tucking “operators”, entirely solid. It bloody well should be, given its pedigree. But there is remarkably little interesting here – aside from flourishes like the sinister gulag section – to command our attention. It’s not particularly beautiful, and makes up for that with enormity. Sure, this is a CoD game we’re talking about, so fantastical theme park aesthetics were never an option, but nevertheless there’s a lack of character here that is in no short supply in other games of this genre.

The Game itself is very fun but since they do not intruduce duo queue and also removed trio queue which makes it only possible to play 4s or solo. One reason to not play the Game in the current state.
The have not learned a single thing in all of their Games. Cod is always full of cheaters...

As a great man once said: “activision-blizzard can go and f* itself with a frozen stick of their own sh***”
And this statement holds even more true after having gone through the torture of playing CoD: Cheaterzone, sorry I mean Warzone.
Proper Servers & Tickrate? -- ROFL, no.
Proper Anti-Cheat? -- Not by a long shot, cheaters are rampant. Worse than in early PUBG days.
Proper Patch Notes? -- LoL, no.
Proper Patch times & patch “size”/content? - LoL, also no. It's 10% game content and 90% s* that they will try to sell to you.
Proper Regional Matchmaking? -- Nah, oh you are in Central Europe? Lets put you on an US server and blatantly lie that you have a 50ms ping to the server even though in reality it's like 250ms+.
Correct Ping, FPS & Package-loss Counters? -- Obviously also no.
An easy way to report cheaters? -- ahahahaha, of course not!
Oh it's patchday and you want to DL the patch? -- F* you all! 300kb/s tops limit for everybody! (not joking)

Design choices and oversights that any person who just occasionally played an FPS game, that's not made by idiots (so not Infinity Ward), would have noticed within a few hours of gameplay? -- Well that they do have.

Platant ingame popups to “buy the battle pass” between games? -- Sure, I mean they literally have a patent on a matchmaking system that encourages people to buy microtransactions, Google it.

Bugs that prevent the progress of said battle pass they try to constantly sell to you? -- Naturally and they dont give a flying f* or companse for it.

In its core Warzone could have been something but like anything Activision-Blizzard touches it just ends up being a heap of literall garbage. The only thing Warzone has going for it is that it is free and there are no “pay to win” aspects in the game. I mean sure some “skins” are harder to see than others but that's about it.
Naturally a free2play game paired with an basically useless anticheat, as obviously these greedy a.holes at Activision-Blizzard refuse to pay for something that actually works like EAC, does not make for a great gaming experience unless your intent is to cheat, which i'm fairly certain is done by around 50% of the playerbase anyway by now.

TL;DR: The game feels like a worse version of Apex Legends. It's just a bit "Meh", and definitely not worth the 100 GB download! Score: 3.9/10TL;DR: The game feels like a worse version of Apex Legends. It's just a bit "Meh", and definitely not worth the 100 GB download! Score: 3.9/10

The download size is about 100 GB, give or take. It's yet another example of a company deciding to give free access to 1 part of a game, but requiring you to download the entire game to play it.

It takes quite the machine to run the game whilst looking good. It's quite laggy, both in latency and FPS, and it rarely feels good playing. I played a few games with a friend, but it never managed to feel good, so we both decided to just stop playing.

In terms of mechanics, everything seems like a previous generation BR game. The default keybindings are weird and feel out of place, the systems feel like watered-down versions of other BR titles, the game itself feels heavy and janky and, bar the visuals, a bit unpolished. As I mentioned, a lot of the game just feels like Apex Legends but worse: The sliding is too heavy, the pinging system is too basic, the way gun-spawning works is weird, and whilst they have some cool concepts like buying care packages, the designers seem to have relied to heavily on already existing concepts, but haven't achieved the level of polish that Apex Legends or Fortnite have.

I cannot in good faith recommend Warzone. If you're a die-hard CoD fan you might enjoy this game, but if you're just looking for a cool BR game, look elsewhere. So many other games are doing it better. Much, MUCH better.
