‘Valorant’ Streamer Hiko Announces He Is Joining 100 Thieves

Mike Stubbs

Spencer "Hiko" Martin, one of the largest Valorant streamers in the world, has announced that he is joining 100 Thieves to play on the organisation’s Valorant team.

The announcement was made on his stream, where he revealed that he would be joining 100 Thieves and will be building his own team for professional Valorant. This means that he will retire from Counter-Strike Global Offensive officially and will dedicate all of his time to Valorant

The joining of 100 Thieves means that he will also be moving to Los Angeles sometime after the current pandemic is over, in order to be closer to the organisation’s home.

Following the announcement on stream 100 Thieves released a video of founder Matthew “Nadeshot” Hagg introducing Hiko to the organisation. He said that he is always asked what other esport the organisation will enter, and can finally reveal that Valorant is the next game in the 100 Thieves roster.

The goals for the team are already quite high, despite there only being one member of the roster. Nadeshot has said that they are looking to win a world championship in Valorant, which is the target for all of the games they compete in. Fortunately Hiko seems to be on the same page on that front as well.

“My goal throughout my entire career has always been to win,” said Hiko. “I want to win. I will do whatever it takes to win. My goal with 100 Thieves is to bring as many championships and as many trophies as I can to this organisation.”

This is not the first time that Hiko has been signed to a massive organisation, as in the world of CS:GO he was a part of the likes of Team Liquid and Rouge. As a CS:GO player he competed in eight Major tournaments, even coming second at ESL One Cologne 2016 with Team Liquid.

Since the start of the Valorant beta Hiko has been one of the biggest streamers in the world of Valorant, bringing in tens of thousands of viewers every day. Fans have praised him not just for his impressive skill, but also for the way he explains his decision making and teaches those who are watching how to improve.

There is currently no word on who else will be joining Hiko on the 100 Thieves roster, but with such a big name as captain you can be sure every top player will want to be a part of the roster.
