3324 Dent Pl NW Archaeology Project – Yarrow Mamout site

Gateposter2-page-001

The Dent Place project is at the property formerly owned by Yarrow Mamout whose portrait hangs in the Peabody Room of the Georgetown Public Library. Intern Mia Carey is a Howard alum, NSF fellow, and doctoral student at the University of Florida. She is the field director and will write her dissertation on the project.

We’ll need to use a mini-backhoe to get under the fill, and remote sensing, to look for evidence of burial shafts (Yarrow was reputedly buried there.)
