Please be aware that due to operating restrictions caused by COVID-19 measures, our capacity to deal with correspondence is currently reduced and our ability to reply to letters and cards directly is limited.
Writing to The Queen
The Queen is shown almost all of her correspondence on a daily basis by one of her Private Secretaries, and she takes a keen interest in the letters she receives.
How to write to The Queen
You can write to Her Majesty at the following address:

If you wish to write a formal letter, you can open with 'Madam' and close the letter with the form 'I have the honour to be, Madam, Your Majesty's humble and obedient servant'.
This traditional approach is by no means obligatory. You should feel free to write in whatever style you feel comfortable.
Correspondence which will not receive a response
As a constitutional Monarch, Her Majesty does not intervene in any political or personal disputes, and letters asking her to do so will receive a standard reply to this effect.
For security reasons, the Correspondence Team are unable to accept any unsolicited gifts which are sent to The Queen.
