The Division’s major research foci include studies of comparative effectiveness and quality, women’s health, prevention, health care disparities, mental health services, cost-effectiveness, decision making, and substance abuse.
Education and Training
The Division’s main goal in education and training is to create a future generation of investigators and physician scientists who are well disciplined in their fields and who have a solid foundation on which to build their careers.
Clinical
Full-time faculty members of the Division of General Internal Medicine are the single largest group to admit patients to the general medicine service at UPMC Presbyterian/Montefiore Hospitals, and they are one of the largest groups to admit patients to UPMC Shadyside Hospital.
