Stephen Kaufer

President & CEO

Steve co-founded Tripadvisor in 2000 with the mission to help travelers around the world plan and book the perfect trip. Under his leadership, Tripadvisor has grown into the largest travel site in the world. As CEO, Steve has led the growth of Tripadvisor, Inc., which includes 24 other travel media brands that operate in 48 markets worldwide. Prior to co-founding Tripadvisor, Steve was president of CDS, Inc., an independent software vendor, and prior to that, was co-founder and vice president of engineering of CenterLine Software. Steve holds several software patents. Over the years Steve has won a number of awards for his entrepreneurship and leadership in the travel industry including being inducted into the 2015 British Travel & Hospitality Hall of Fame, receiving the 2015 Pioneer Award by the International Society of Hospitality Consultants and 2005 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Mr. Kaufer serves on the boards of CarGurus and the Neuroendocrine Tumor Research Foundation (formerly known as Caring for Carcinoid Foundation). He's a fan of his brother-in-law's robot sculptures at Lipson Robotics (www.lipsonrobotics.com). Steve has a degree in computer science from Harvard University.

Ernst Teunissen

Chief Financial Officer

Ernst is responsible for overseeing Tripadvisor's global finance operations including accounting, investor relations, tax, corporate development and real estate. Ernst previously served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Cimpress N.V., formerly known as Vistaprint N.V. where he had similar responsibilities. Prior to joining Cimpress as vice president of corporate strategy in 2009, Teunissen was a founder and director of two corporate finance and management consulting firms, Manifold Partners and ThreeStone Ventures Limited. Before that, he worked in investment banking as an executive director at Morgan Stanley's Telecoms and Media Group in London and as a senior associate director for Deutsche Bank in both London and Singapore. Early on, Teunissen worked as a consultant at Monitor Company, a global strategy firm in Europe and Asia. He holds a BBA from Nijenrode University, The Netherlands School of Business and an MBA from the University of Oregon.

Ernst's favorite travel destination is Valbonne, France.

Seth Kalvert

Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary

Seth Kalvert has responsibility for all of the legal activities of Tripadvisor, Inc. Prior to assuming his role as General Counsel in August 2011, Seth held various positions at Expedia, Inc., most recently as Vice President, Associate General Counsel since February 2006, where he had primary responsibility for the legal aspects of the company's mergers and acquisitions and other transactional work, along with the global Expedia brand, and managed a team that provided legal support for various Expedia brands, including Tripadvisor and Hotwire, in addition to privacy and trademarks across Expedia, Inc. Before joining Expedia, Seth held various legal positions at IAC/InterActiveCorp, which he joined in July 2001. Previously, Seth held a business development role at a privately-held online social networking and e-commerce company and practiced law in the New York office of Debevoise & Plimpton, LLP. Seth holds an AB from Brown University and a JD from Columbia Law School.

Seth's favorite travel destination is Queenstown, New Zealand.

Sugata Mukhopadhyay

SVP, Chief Technology Officer

Sugata is the Chief Technology Officer at Tripadvisor, responsible for leading the company’s engineering organization worldwide. With over 15 years of experience at Tripadvisor, Sugata has touched nearly every area of the business. As head of engineering for Tripadvisor’s Rentals and Experiences business units, Sugata has overseen several significant technical projects that have helped scale the business. Sugata continues to lead engineering for the Experiences & Rentals unit in addition to his global information technology role that spans across all of Tripadvisor globally. Prior to joining the Tripadvisor team, he was involved with several early stage startups across media, FinTech and mobile technology verticals, both as a founder and in engineering leadership roles. Sugata holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in Computer Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and Cornell University.

Sugata's favorite travel destination is Iceland.

Beth Grous

Chief People Officer

Beth is responsible for leading Tripadvisor's global human resources organization. Previously, Beth was at Nuance Communications, a global provider of speech and imaging solutions, where she served as the senior vice president of human resources. Prior to Nuance, Grous spent three years at Sanofi Corporation, a global healthcare organization, where she was the vice president of human resources. Beth also held a number of roles at Genzyme Corporation for nine years, including vice president of human resources, before it was acquired by Sanofi. Earlier on, Grous held human resources leadership positions at Perot Systems Healthcare Services, Reebok International, Aramark Educational Services and Federated Department Stores. Grous holds a bachelor's degree in English from Cornell University.

Beth's favorite travel destination is Maui, Hawaii.

Dermot Halpin

Special Advisor

Dermot Halpin is a special advisor to the CEO at Tripadvisor. Dermot has extensive experience in building high-growth consumer internet platforms, through organic growth and acquisition, particularly in the travel space. Prior to joining Tripadvisor in 2012, Dermot was president of Expedia EMEA, where he oversaw the expansion of Expedia, Hotels.com, and the Expedia affiliate network in Europe, the Middle East and Asia. In addition to Expedia, Dermot was previously CEO at Autoquake and Managing Director at Tele2. He was on the board of Voyages SNCF, ELong, and is now on the board of Ding.com. Dermot holds an MBA from INSEAD and studied engineering at University College Dublin, Ireland.

Dermot's favorite travel destination is Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Bertrand Jelensperger

Senior Vice President, Tripadvisor Restaurants & CEO, lafourchette

Bertrand Jelensperger is responsible for the global strategy and operations of Tripadvisor’s B2B restaurants business, and serves as CEO of TheFork (https://www.thefork.com/), an online restaurant booking platform he co-founded in 2007. Today, TheFork has a network of more than 60,000 restaurant partners across Europe, LATAM and Australia, and is now the leading discovery and reservation app for restaurants in those markets. In 2014, TheFork (then known as “lafourchette”) was acquired by Tripadvisor to allow its users to search availability and reserve a table for a specific date and time directly from the Tripadvisor site and app. Prior to lafourchette, Bertrand co-founded Boursipoly, an online gaming company and co-built JTECH Europe, a pagingsystem for the hospitality industry in France and Spain. He currently serves as advisor for restaurant sustainability non-profit fig.eco (https://www.fig.eco) and sits on the board of Doctolib (www.doctolib.fr), Cowboy Bike (https://cowboy.com/) and Ornikar (https://www.ornikar.com/). Bertrand earned his degree at the HEC business school in Paris.

Lindsay Nelson

Chief Experience & Brand Officer

As Chief Experience & Brand Officer, Lindsay is responsible for elevating the Tripadvisor brand and user experience globally, growing the company’s media solutions and advertising business, and leading operations and strategy for the APAC region. A known leader in digital marketing and publishing, Forbes recognized her on the 2018 CMO Next List as a top 50 marketing executive; Advertising Age named her a "Woman to Watch;" and Business Insider appointed her one of the "Most Powerful Women in Mobile Advertising." Previously, as Chief Commercial Officer and CMO, Lindsay oversaw revenue and marketing efforts for Vox Media, a venture backed media and technology company known for its portfolio of editorial networks. She holds an undergraduate degree in international relations from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Lindsay's favorite travel destination is Marrakech, Morocco (so much so she wed there).

Bryan Saltzburg

President, Flights, Cruise & Car

Bryan Saltzburg leads the company's flight, cruise, and car business unit globally. Bryan also manages the Cruise Critic, SeatGuru and GateGuru brands. During his ten years at Tripadvisor, he also led the New Initiatives group that oversaw the launch, growth and development of both the Flight and Vacation Rentals categories. Prior to joining Tripadvisor, Bryan worked for Travelocity, serving as vice president of leisure businesses. While there, he was responsible for launching their cruise business, and managing its dynamic packaging, activities and events, and insurance businesses. Bryan previously held marketing and business development positions at Walt Disney Company, Neutrogena, and Princess Cruises. Bryan is a board member of Neighborly and currently serves on the United States Travel and Tourism Advisory Board for the U.S. Department of Commerce. He holds a BS in education and social policy from Northwestern University and an MBA from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.

Bryan's favorite travel destination is Ko Phi Phi, Thailand.

Kanika Soni

Chief Commercial Officer

As Chief Commercial Officer, Kanika is responsible for all Tripadvisor B2C revenue (across Hotels, Vacation Rentals, Experiences and Restaurants), as well as Tripadvisor Hotels Media Sales and B2B Solutions. Kanika has extensive experience in scaling digital and e-commerce businesses while keeping customer experience at the core of business strategy.

Kanika joined Tripadvisor from The Walt Disney Company in April 2019, where she led global e-commerce for the Consumer Products Division. During her tenure at Disney, she helped turn the business around to deliver sustained double-digit revenue growth. This transformation centered around several strategic initiatives including driving increased traffic, expanding product assortment and improving the shopping experience. Prior to Disney, Kanika held leadership positions at Tesla Motors, Gilt Groupe and McKinsey & Company. Kanika holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Delhi University.

Kanika’s favorite travel destination is Cartagena, Colombia.
