A brand new property in downtown DC conveniently located near the Faragut West and Faragut North Metro Stations with plenty of dining options nearby, I cannot recommend the AC Hotel Washington Downtown highly enough. The team is exceedingly friendly and strives to assist guests in any way they can. Rooms are well proportioned with every convenience possible (well positioned charging ports/plugs, internet TV, etc). For such a new property (only three weeks old at the time of my stay), the staff function like a well-oiled operation. They and this property are a welcome addition to the Marriott Washington DC portfolio.

Lucky us, first to have the room; just opened. The staff was amazing. Great NY Eve vibe. Thank you Kamal F., Krystle R. and Aey S. Such positive, professional, and fun folks. Love the lobby design and furnishings. Comfortable and quaint entry. Central location was ideal to attractions, museums, and night scene zones (U Street, Adam's Morgan, etc.) Great room amenities.

Room tip: Location, location. In the middle of the city. Great proximity to everything worth doing and metro for airport and DMV attractions.

Stayed here overnight and will likely come again. Brand new property with stylish vibe, friendly staff and very comfortable rooms.
The hotel just opened and they gave us a room and said we will be the first ones in it. The bathroom is nice and chic and the products good. Beds are comfortable.

We came in off of a long 28hr Amtrak trip and was pleased to wake up to a room ready notification at like 5am saying we could stop by the front desk for our key. As a Titanium Elite Member with Marriott it's rare to see someone processing those mobile check-ins that early. I had high hopes this place was very well put together and completely ready for the prime time!

Unfortunately, actually collecting the keys was a more difficult endeavor. The agent was very new and was not understanding of how the titanium benefits worked at AC (points or food and beverage credit of $10 per person for member+1). He kept trying to tell me it was only for 1 person and only relented on a follow-up phone call. The rest of the check-in experience went without incident providing I didn't trip over any of the finishing touches construction was still completing in the lobby (it's always disappointing to see a property open before it's ready).

We were assigned a room only on the 5th floor with a view of a building right across the street (not exactly the upgrade we normally see). The reservation did request a high floor.

The hard product in the room exceeded expectations. The property was five days old, so we were the first assigned to this room. The room had everything we needed to enjoy our one night. I enjoyed the bottles of water being pre-cooled in the room and the lighting in the room was very thoughtful. The shower was amazing and the shampoo and conditioner felt awesome. Bed was very comfortable and linens were super soft. Internet was very fast and Netflix loaded on the TV nearly instantly. The lavender provided at the front desk was a very classy touch.

Breakfast is NOT a la carte despite me asking and hearing a different answer otherwise. They call it a "spread" and it's very European with many items being imported from France. It was offered a $20 and looked mostly picked-over when we came down at 10:30am. I became pretty frustrated when I learned that even the croissants could not be offered per item.

Thankfully Krystal and the server working breakfast really turned things around for us that morning. She even made it a point to still get me a croissant and apologize for the mix-up. Going outside for something more substantial was quite the adventure due to the active construction in the next building.

We visited the patio on our return from breakfast off-site. It was clearly not ready for guests (I was not made aware of this) as there were still nails and construction debris that were not cleared and no furniture up there. The meeting rooms looked really nice.

Krystal checked us out soon after. She was so thoughtful and made it a point to bring out her Chinese language skills to say goodbye. She's a valuable asset to the team and the only reason I'd return with so many other options in the area that aren't still finishing construction.

Room tip: 5th floor has no view and is not a high floor
