The Hay-Adams is Elegance Embodied. We found everyone at the hotel inviting, friendly, and happy (belaying our fear the hotel would be stuffy). The rooms are magnificent and very comfortable. The wait staff at The Lafayette are attentive and made our meals a pleasure. The bar tenders (once you show you're are real person) were great and super entertaining. The happy staff made our stay a wonderful experience - it really makes a difference. We're glad this icon of DC is maintaining its elegance and service in spite of the mean-spiritedness across the street. Thank you for a wonderful weekend and highly recommended!
Everything at The Hay-Adams is done right. Check-in was easy and friendly (don't miss the jar of cookies!), and our room was absolutely beautiful. So charming and comfortable! The location is perfect and it was an easy walk to all the places on our itinerary for the day. The restaurant was lovely and we had a great dinner there. We only stayed for a night, but it was a welcome respite after a very busy week of travel.
Nice hotel and just across the White House very amazing you can walk across and there is White House. Very convenient location. Restaurant is walking distance, This a very place when you go to meeting and enjoy DC Dr Vo
One of the US' leading, old-school hotels for sure. It's location opposite the White House is great, but admittedly a HamptonInn and other hotels are that close, too. But: You can actually see the White house from the restaurant, and of course from the rooftop. The rooms are pretty old-school with a lot of plush. But unlike "new" or "modern" hotels, they're not worn. Instead, they charm you with the power of DC and other comparable cities in the world like London, Paris or Berlin. The quite tiny bathrooms, another relict from the hotel's age, make up the space with high quality and comfort. There are not many hotels in large US cities in which the shower made my day. Staff is great, as you can and should expect. And do not miss to visit the cellar bar "Off the record". No more words needed.…
Beautiful hotel with old school service and attention. Our room had a lovely view of the White House and the staff could not have been more accommodating from helping us to unpack to steaming my gown for the evening. Love the bar restaurant in the basement. Location is completely convenient for getting around. Elegant.
