This place is condo building that did not sell so now they rent out rooms. Good location but not a great stay. The place was generally dirty, public areas as well as the room. It is cheap for DC but with its few amenities, lack of 24 hour doorman and general filth I won't be staying again.

Was here for 2 days. I wouldnt recommend this to anyone. The place needs maintenance badly. The carpets are mouldy, there is absolutely no service, the coffee machine doesnt have coffee (need to go the front desk and get a coffee). Its a run down building which they are renting out to guests which is not the right thing to do. Please look for a different hotel/apartment.

Do not stay here. This is a dump, horrible service, dirty sheets, plumbing problems, run down interiors. Overpriced. I asked for basic items not in room and they never arrived. My carpet was soaking wet. The room rate was higher than expected when i got my bill. There is no effort at hospitality.

Never mind the noise due to the heater in the bedroom and the missing cleanliness in the bathroom, they charged me the damage deposit without any reason using a fake picture. If you're planning to visit DC you should choose definitely anything else. Not recommend.

We were 3 people and rented a one-bedroom apartment. The sofa bed was not great, but ok for 2 nights. The location is within walking distance (25 mins) to main attractions like the White house and the National Mall. Also, near a lot of restaurants and shopping in Georgetown. It was nice to have a microwave and fridge in the apartment.

My daughter and I appreciated the security in place and a parking garage for her car. The bed as well as the sofa bed were super comfortable. We both wished we have a comforter like the one provided for the sofa bed. Temperature control was easy and worked well. Having the kitchenette was convenient too. As others have mentioned, having Trader Joe’s around the corner was a plus! We also loved the food from Charm Thai-around the corner too. The reason I didnt give this a 5 Star: the place is dated, some furniture and blinds in need of repair. Windows dirty. The coffee bar in the lobby was messy and not well stocked. Disappointing when there isn’t a place to get coffee close by. Reasonable price for this area.

We booked this for its location and knowing we were only staying one night. The location was good and the staff polite but the hotel itself was tired and basic, in much need of investment to compete with all of the other hotels in the area. You get what you pay for.

Brilliant location for visiting DC monument. Value for money. Adequately stocked kitchenette where you can prepare simple meals or warm food. Trader Joe supermarket round the corner. Our room had a nice view of Arlington. Secure entrance. Staff very friendly especially the young lady Carmel. Free coffee and water fountain. Easy transport with the Circulator bus for $1 a trip! Will definitely use Joud again.

After reading some reviews for the Joud, we were not sure what to expect but booked it because of its location. We were very pleasantly surprised and happy we chose to stay there. The apartment we had was on the 6th floor with a brilliant view of the Arlington skyline. The kitchenette is adequately equipped with kettle, hot plate, fridge, and utensils, making it ideal for eating in. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was just the right size. After all we were not intending on spending the whole time in the apartment! The staff, in particular the young lady (Camel?) who checked us in were friendly and helpful. Navigating to the tourist bits was so easy due to the Joud’s central location, and the Trader Joe round the corner was an added bonus! We will be staying there again on our next visit to DC…

The property manger is non-responsive! I booked this place because of its location only. Their website says that the check in time is 3 to 10 Pm. As I was arriving at 10PM and needed time to travel from the airport, I attempted via four emails and 2 phone calls to arrange for late arrival and instruction on how to obtain the key. I waited 7 hours for a response, to no avail. I finally got thru and spoke to a lady at the property. She gave me instructions as how to retrieve the door key card. At 11 PM when I arrived and tried to access the drop off box outside to retrieve my room key , a security guard told me just come inside, so I did. He informed me that my reservation has been cancelled by the property manager I said that can't be, because I have not received any notice form the property or BOOKING.com. He said the property manager has instructed him to remove the access card from the drop off box and deny my access. The guard tried to call the manager several time and the manager was not answering. I was stranded at mid night without any cancellation email, text or call! and no manager to talk to. It all worked out well at the end, I walked around the block and checked into beautiful Melrose hotel. The Joud Residence rooms smell like Curry and Body odor from what I can feel waiting in the reception area!!!…
