Sri Lanka: Communicable disease epidemiological profile

The aim of this document is to provide up-to-date information on the major communicable disease threats faced by the resident and displaced populations in emergency-affected countries. The information provided is designed for use in developing public health strategy, and in prioritizing and coordinating communicable disease control activities between all agencies working in such countries. Diseases have been included in this document because of their high burden or epidemic potential for Sri Lanka, or because they are (re)emerging diseases; that is, important but neglected tropical diseases subject to global elimination or eradication.
