Family Health: The Power of Mom

Mother of two sons and a behavioral scientist, Dr. Katherine Lyon-Daniel believes in the power of science and the power of mom. As a mother, she gets her children immunized, schedules her husband’s essential health screening, persuades her dad to use his hearing aids, and keeps the family medical records. As head of CDC’s communication programs, she uses research to make sure the information the agency provides meets the needs of its widely varied audiences. An articulate champion for women and children’s health issues and a knowledgeable proponent of social marketing, Lyon-Daniel answers questions about how CDC’s latest research makes a difference in the lives of families across America.
