Each school year, SMU Dedman Law is proud to feature presentations, distinguished speakers, academic conferences and symposia on various topics of national and international relevance. Faculty, alumni and students take part in these events where major topics are discussed and debated.
Legal education at the SMU Dedman Law goes beyond the classroom and gives students opportunities to gain real-world experience through our legal clinics, academic externships, internship programs, and moot court and mock trial competitions.
Students have the opportunity to receive academic credit for and participate in the publication of four law reviews — the SMU Law Review, the Journal of Air Law and Commerce, The International Lawyer, and the SMU Science and Technology Law Review.
