Think about a visit

Come visit our campus in Dallas to see how you can take advantage of academically rigorous courses and the vast resources throughout Big D, which is within a four-hour flight from most North American cities.

Visit Options

DAILY VISITS are offered Monday through Friday and include an admission information session, a campus tour with a Residential Commons tour and an information session in your academic college. We also can help you personalize your day and arrange for you to sit in on a class, meet with a professor and eat lunch with current students during the school year.

TRANSFER FRIDAY VISITS are specialized visits on Fridays for any student interested in transferring to SMU. These visits are specifically designed for transfer students and include a transfer admissions presentation, a campus tour, lunch on campus, and an information session in your academic college.

WEEKEND VISITS offer a campus and Residential Commons tour as well as an information session on selected Saturdays during the spring and fall.

Group Visits 

GROUP VISITS are offered for groups of 15 – 40 students in ninth through 12th grades on most Mondays – Fridays. You can choose an admission information session, a campus tour, or both. 

Please note: When classes at SMU are canceled because of inclement, admission programs and tours will be cancelled as well. Campus closures will be announced on SMU’s homepage, www.smu.edu.

Prospective Student Programs

MUSTANG DAYS, these are one-day on-campus programs for high school students entering their senior year and students transferring from another college or university. Get the inside track on admission, scholarships, financial aid and campus life. Enjoy a campus tour, lunch at the dining hall and more! 

TRANSFER STAMPEDE is an in-depth look at the transfer process, with the opportunity to get specific answers about course transferability and scholarship consideration.

SPRINGFEST, for ninth through 11th graders, is an introduction to SMU and the college admission process. This one-day on-campus program includes workshops, academic sessions and a campus tour. 

ACADEMIC SPOTLIGHTS include sessions and activities that give you the opportunity to take a closer look at your intended major, interact with students and faculty and tour the facilities available to students within an academic school.

SMU PREVIEWS are held in selected cities across the United States and give students the opportunity to learn more about SMU, meet their admission counselor and gain insight on majors, scholarships and campus life.

SMU COMES TO YOU are information sessions held in the Fall in select cities nationwide. Presented by each region’s admission counselor, prospective students can meet their counselor, gain valuable information about SMU and obtain exclusive insights on majors, scholarships and campus life.
