GORIZ Leadership
Cultivating young leaders who demonstrate exceptional academic performance and professional backgrounds, GORIZ trains them to represent their Armenian diaspora communities throughout Europe.
GORIZ was born from the 2006 and 2007 AGBU Project Exchange and Development Seminars for Young European Armenians that were sponsored by the Council of Europe in Brussels and took place in Brussels and Valence, respectively. In 2009, GORIZ began organizing its own annual seminars attended by participants from Armenia, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Italy and Spain. In its first year, the seminar focused on democracy and political participation for youth. The following year, themes included economic and political development in Armenia, Armenia’s relationship with Turkey, as well as institutions for the diaspora.
