Sr. Manager, Revenue Operations

National Review seeks a Programmatic and Ad Operations “Jack/Jane of all trades” to manage all Revenue Operations.

This individual will play a pivotal role as National Review continues to grow following a massive site redesign & platform update, participating in daily conversations around overall strategy, including product offerings, vendor partnerships, and processes & procedures to name a few. Reporting directly to the Publisher, this role will begin as an individual post handling all aspects of ad & revenue operations & reporting, and will offer significant growth potential with the opportunity to grow into a Director-level position, becoming the main revenue operations decision maker and managing a team as the digital footprint of National Review grows.

Responsibilities:
• Serve as lead strategist (alongside any hired consultants) for all digital advertising operations, including but not limited to tagging structure, ad sizes & placements (creating product opportunities tied to potential ad revenue), new ad tech, and any partnerships relating to digital advertising operations.

• Trafficking, maintaining and optimizing all advertising campaigns, including programmatic, within DFP.

• Serves as lead and lead strategist on all programmatic deals, including but not limited to PMP set-up & maintenance, programmatic direct, etc.

• Speaks with partner organization(s) to increase ad volume & value

• Sets up vendors in tech stack & serves as Technical Sales Engineer for programmatic negotiation & implementation

• Manage portfolio of vendors by monitoring delivery, identifying opportunities for growth and areas of risk, and troubleshooting issues while meeting financial goals of National Review.

• Develop new vendor and technology relationships while maintaining old ones including Google, A9 and AppNexus.

• Generate monthly reports for executive management and Sales to help inform of inventory trends, potential issues, and overall revenue by method

• Inform supply reporting and analytics: deliver media forecasts and revenue pipeline for syndication partners.

• Interact with finance/billing, and ad operations teams to resolve reporting discrepancies and build revenue reports.

• Develop performance media benchmarks.

• Oversee 3rd party print & digital fulfillment partner to ensure their reporting is accurate and they are keeping to desired deliverables.

Skills and Qualifications:
• Degree from an accredited college or university.

• 3-5 years of direct DFP & ad trafficking a must.

• Advanced Excel a must (pivot tables, vlookup).

• Knowledge of Google DFP, ad tags & vendor qualification testing.

• Desire to engage in significant education and grow within industry; attend media events & conferences.

• Comfortable in a fast-paced and changing environment.

• Extremely proactive, self-sufficient and highly organized, with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple and varied tasks in a timely manner.

• Enjoy working independently and in a collaborative team environment, sharing knowledge across departments.

• Eager to learn multiple aspects of the digital media landscape.

• Flexible hours & after-hours event attendance as required.

• Some travel for conferences (Digiday, AdMonsters, IAB, etc) required.

Audience Development Manager

National Review is looking for an experienced Audience Development Manager. The ideal candidate is equal parts content marketing/ audience development/ and social whiz. You will be responsible for increasing traffic, raising the brand’s profile, building a loyal following on various social media networks, and marketing our content products. A passion for news and politics, an obsession with social media, an aptitude in content curation, and experience in audience development and engagement are key.

You will not be merely posting social links — you will manage content and distribution strategy across the website, mobile, app, social, email, and a myriad of platforms (AMP, Facebook IA, Google Newsstand, Apple News, Youtube, etc.). Success will be measured by the ability to grow audience, brand relevance, maintain the health of the brand and exceed revenue goals.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and execute content marketing strategy to generate website traffic and boost user engagement on all platforms

• Develop and execute creative programming for NR’s social channels that meet the editorial, marketing, and advertising goals of the brand

• Define and report on our audiences and how we can drive them across all of our offerings, i.e. how does our YouTube channel tie to our site, and how do our podcasts tie to our video & events etc?

• Manage the execution of all social media posts (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, plus emerging platforms)

• Spearhead new strategies to grow audience development across channels

• Identify and develop partners for traffic swaps, events, & syndication

• Manage NRPLUS social imprint and assists with other NRPLUS-related developmental projects

• Use analytics and data to inform and improve decision making. Use external/internal data platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, etc.) to analyze data and determine long term strategies

What you have:

• 3+ years of marketing/audience development experience in digital publishing &/or media agency — news and/or politics background preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or another digital media field preferred

• Provide visionary leadership rooted in strategy, analysis & data, creativity, with a bias towards urgency and perfect execution

• Possesses a deep understanding of analytics and data (knowledge of Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, SocialFlow and similar programming/reporting tools are a must)

• Is comfortable working across many teams, including production, editorial, marketing, sales

Office Assistant

National Review Institute (NRI) is seeking an Office Assistant who will be responsible for assisting office operations and management. Applicants should be a self-starters who can anticipate the needs of a busy office and enjoy working in a professional, fast-paced environment. The Office Assistant will report to the Vice President of Finance and Operations. This position will be based at NRI’s headquarters in New York City.

Responsibilities:

• Serve as office liaison at front desk; cordially receive guests, managing security check-in;

• Co-ordinate schedules for conference rooms, appointments for key personnel; manage office maintenance appointments;

• Provide professional communication answering main phone lines: screening appropriately, as well as answering questions and addressing complaints;

• Assist with general office upkeep; maintaining reception, pantry, conference rooms, and communal spaces; manage the ordering and budget for office supplies;

• Assist with the coordination of meetings and events: ordering business meals, prepare materials, and set-up and clean-up for in-office corporate meetings, events, and evening receptions;

• Assist with the performance of various executive, managerial, and administrative tasks, such as database maintenance, data entry and mailings.

Qualifications:

The Office Assistant should ideally have completed a bachelor’s degree and have at least two years prior office experience. Ideal candidates will demonstrate professionalism, excellent communication, organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills, and a strong attention to detail. The Office Assistant must have facility with basic computer software programs.
