What causes PDF downloads to fail:
Sometimes, PDF downloads from JSTOR will fail. This can happen for several reasons, including:

If you encounter an error when trying to download, the best way to begin troubleshooting is to attempt the download directly. To do this:
- Right-click (or CTRL-click, for Mac users) on the "Download PDF" button
- Select "Save link as" (or "Save target as," in Firefox)
This should allow for a faster and more successful download. It also allows you to skip the additional step of opening the PDF in your browser if you already know you want to save it.
