JOB SUMMARY:
This position serves as a Deputy Branch Chief with responsibility for planning, organizing, and directing both the long-term and the day-to-day scientific research, as well as technical, professional and administrative activities, and serving as a member of the senior management team. In addition, the position serves as the first line supervisor to a group of professional employees.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Basic Qualifications:
Applicants must have a Bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree: major study in an academic field related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of the position. This degree must be from an educational program from an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (https://ope.ed.gov/dapip/#/home) at the time the degree was obtained. Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 level of difficulty and responsibility in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph. Specialized experience is experience at or equivalent to which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience in developing, evaluating, and directing research, policy, or surveillance initiatives leading to advances in the field of occupational safety and health.
