‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Kit Harington Checks Into “Wellness Retreat”, Will Not Impact Upcoming Work
The Game of Thrones finale hit everyone hard, but for Kit Harington, for all his character went through, he needed to decompress from all of it. The actor, who played fan favorite Jon Snow for eight seasons, checked into a “wellness retreat” since the finale of the HBO fantasy series.

“Kit has decided to utilize this break in his schedule as an opportunity to spend some time at a wellness retreat to work on some personal issues,” Harington’s rep told Deadline. “It definitely won’t impact any potential upcoming work.”

Harington was also visibly emotional in the documentary Game of Thrones: The Last Watch which aired May 26. We saw Harington get emotional while filming his final scene where Grey Worm (Jacob Anderson) is killing prisoners after King’s Landing has been burnt to a crisp. We also saw him brought to tears during the table read for the finale

Amazon Studios Orders YA Series
Amazon Studios has picked up to series young adult drama pilot The Wilds from writer-executive producer Sarah Streicher (Daredevil) and ABC Signature Studios, part of Disney Television Studios. Amy B. Harris has come on board as executive producer/showrunner of The Wilds, which marks ABC Signature’s first series for Amazon.

‘Aladdin’ Rides To Princely $212M+ Global Bow; ‘Rocketman’ Blasts Off In UK – International Box Office
Disney’s live-action take on the classic 1992 animated Aladdin flew slightly higher at the international box office compared to Sunday’s estimates, with a $122M start. That lands the Will Smith-starrer right at the top end of industry predictions with a better-than-expected debut in some Asian markets where word of mouth made for increased weekend play. With domestic also on a loftier magic carpet ride, the global three-day opening was $212.4M, better than the $207M Sunday estimate. If we include the domestic Monday holiday, then the worldwide bow is $234.7M.

In North America, the film has performed above expectations, with strong audience response. Overseas, there was significant Saturday-Sunday uptick from the early midweek bows which indicates family support for the Guy Ritchie-directed musical and as offshore audiences also like it better than critics. Holds on Sunday in markets like China and Korea

Netflix Threatens Georgia: ‘We’ll Rethink Our Entire Investment’ If Anti-Abortion Bill Becomes Law

Netflix Threatens Georgia: ‘We’ll Rethink Our Entire Investment’ If Anti-Abortion Bill Becomes Law
While the majority of Hollywood studios have remained quiet on Georgia’s “Heartbeat Bill,” Ted Sarandos is now threatening to pull Netflix’s multi-million dollar operations in the state should the anti-abortion bill become law. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp signed the controversial bill May 7, effectively outlawing abortions after six weeks (or once a doctor can detect a fetus’ heartbeat) beginning in the state in January 2020. Netflix uses Georgia as a production site for numerous original projects, including series such as “Insatiable” and “Ozark,” but that might not last forever should the bill become law next year.

“We have many women working on productions in Georgia, whose rights, along with millions of others, will be severely restricted by this law,” Sarandos said in statement, first published by Variety. “It’s why we will work with the Aclu and others to fight it in court. Given the legislation has not yet been implemented,

‘Booksmart’ Box Office Struggle Divides Industry Over Annapurna’s Marketing and Release Strategy

‘Booksmart’ Box Office Struggle Divides Industry Over Annapurna’s Marketing and Release Strategy
Olivia Wilde’s critically acclaimed feature directorial debut “Booksmart” dominated social media buzz over Memorial Day after it struggled at the box office with a four-day opening below $9 million. While its gross more or less fell in line with pre-release tracking, many critics and fans expected the rave reviews to result in a box office hit that broke into the double digits in its much-anticipated debut. Wilde saw the writing on the wall herself after the film’s relatively quiet $2.5 million opening day and took to Twitter to encourage people not to wait on seeing “Booksmart.”

“Anyone out there saving ‘Booksmart’ for another day, consider making that day Today,” Wilde wrote to her 1.7 million followers. “We are getting creamed by the big dogs out there and need your support. Don’t give studios an excuse not to green-light movies made by and about women.”

Wilde’s post proved controversial, as

Ayanna Floyd, showrunner on Season 2 of “The Chi,” has spoken out about the departure of series star Jason Mitchell, who was fired last week amid reports of inappropriate behavior.

Details about Mitchell’s alleged behavior have not been made public, but Floyd said in a statement on Tuesday that the issue of Mitchell’s behavior had been brought to the attention of creator Lena Waithe and the studio behind the show, Fox 21, even before production on the second season began.

“When I took the helm in Season 2, it was Lena who informed me of the issues between Jason Mitchell and Tiffany Boone from Season 1, and that Tiffany was thinking of leaving the show because of it,” Floyd said in a statement provided to TheWrap. “As a result of this information, I discussed Tiffany’s claims with the studio’s Hr department and set up Hr presentations for the writers, cast and crew.

The director’s career has been consistently appreciated by film fans and critics alike, earning him numerous awards, including the Palme d’Or at Cannes in 2013. And so it shouldn’t be any surprise that the filmmaker’s latest work, “Mektoub, My Love: Intermezzo,” which premiered at this year’s Cannes, now finds itself with yet another controversy for Kechiche.

Cannes Film Review: ‘Homeward’

Cannes Film Review: ‘Homeward’
Visually striking, but narratively undernourished, the father-and-son-bonding drama “Homeward” unfolds against the backdrop of a fraught road trip from Kyiv to Russia-annexed Crimea and marks a flawed debut from young Ukrainian helmer-writer Nariman Aliev, a Crimean Tatar. Indeed, the plight of Crimean Tatars (both historically and currently) forms an important element of the plot. While the subtle connotations surrounding which of the film’s different languages are spoken in various situations may not be understood by all viewers, the mixed feelings of love and resentment between father and son — and their pride in their Tatar heritage and homeland — come through loud and clear.

As the film opens, Kyiv college student Alim and his father Mustafa (Akhtem Seitablayev), newly arrived from Crimea, are paying a visit to one of the capital’s morgues to claim the shrapnel-pocked body of Alim’s older brother Nazim (Anatoliy Marempolskiy), one of many Ukrainian soldiers
