Synopsis
Based on the Story "Our Exploits at West Poley" by Thomas Hardy. Off on a picnic, Leonard and his cousin Stephen find an underground cave with a fast-flowing river. In order to cross, they divert the river and later discover that West Poley's river has dried up, while a new river has appeared in East Poley. The boys get injured trying to set the river right again and are rescued just in time, and Stephen nearly kills himself trying to blow up the cave entrance.
