  • 199 is the target and you would expect the England batting line-up to chase this down quite easily. Ireland will have to come up with something special if they are to defend it. Can they do so? Join us to find out after the break.
  • The England bowlers did not start that well but once the ball got old, they were excellent. Tom Curran and Liam Plunkett were the tormentors-in-chief. They picked up 7 wickets in total. Except for Willey, the other three also had a wicket to their name.
  • The English bowlers have justified their skipper's decision to bowl first. They are surely the happier side walking off the field. Ireland on the other hand will be very disappointed with where they are especially after the start they got. Their openers added a 55-run stand before Stirling was dismissed. They failed to recover after that. They slipped from 55 for 0 to 77 for 4. There were a couple of decent stands then but nothing significant. Mark Adair's handy innings helped them get close to 200. Overall a very poor batting performance by them.
  • 43.1 OUT! Chopped on! IRELAND ARE BOWLED OUT FOR 198! They do not even bat their entire quota of 45 overs. Curran ends with three wickets. A slower one on middle, Little looks to cut but only manages to get it off the under edge and knock back his middle stump. The away side all come up and celebrate. England will be mighty pleased with this after the hosts were 55/0 at one stage.
  • 42.6 BEATEN! On a good length and outside off, Rankin looks to swing at this one but misses it. 198/9
  • 42.5 Bowls a yorker on off, Rankin manages to dig it out.
  • 42.4 On a length on off, Little cuts it through point for a run.
  • 42.3 FOUR! On a length on leg, Little looks to flick but gets an inside edge. It goes past the keeper towards fine leg for a boundary.
  • 42.2 On a good length on middle, Little looks to scoop but misses it.
  • 42.1 On a length outside off, run down off the outside half to third man for a single by the southpaw.
  • David Willey is brought back on. He has figures of 5-1-20-0 so far.
  • 41.6 FOUR! Nice shot from Joshua Little. Full and outside off, Little drives it beautifully through mid off for a boundary. 7 runs have come from the over. 192/9
  • 41.5 BEATEN! On a good length and outside off, Little looks to drive but misses it due to the slow pace on this one. Good bowling from Tom Curran.
  • 41.4 On a length on middle, Rankin flicks it through square leg for a run.
  • 41.3 Bowls a bouncer on leg, Rankin does well to duck under it.
  • 41.2 Short delivery and outside off, Rankin cuts it through point. The batsmen get two runs.
  • 41.1 Curran bowls it full and outside off, Rankin looks to drive but misses it.
  • Tom Curran is back into the attack. He has figures of 7-1-28-2 so far.
  • 40.6 Cut away to deep cover for a single and Rankin gets off the mark. 2 runs and 2 wickets off this over, brilliant from Plunkett. 185/9
  • 40.6 Wide! The ball is down the leg side but the batsman still goes after it. The Umpire signals a wide.
  • 40.5 Swing and a miss! A length ball outside off, Rankin looks to hit it over mid off but fails to make any contact.
  • 40.4 Another one slightly short of a length, Boyd looks to fend it away but gets it off the inside edge onto the thigh pad.
  • 40.3 No hat-trick for Rankin. Around the wicket and bowled on top of middle, Rankin keeps it out towards mid-wicket.
  • Boyd Rankin is the new batsman in and he will face the Hat-trick ball.
  • 40.2 OUT! FOURTH ONE FOR PLUNKETT! A length ball wide outside off from him, a nothing ball really. Dockrell looks to hit it away over cover but fails to get elevation. The ball carries to cover where Eoin Morgan takes a regulation catch. Nine down now Ireland and in danger of not playing their entire quota of overs. And again, there are two batsmen in the middle who have not faced a single ball.
  • Joshua Little walks out to bat now.
  • 40.1 OUT! Plunkett gets his third wicket! Murtagh falls now. A bouncer on middle, Tim looks to hook it away but only manages a top edge. The ball goes straight up in the air. Foakes runs behind a bit and takes a really good catch. These swirlers are not easy but the big gloves help. 2 more needed for England now to finish off this innings.
  • 39.6 BEATEN! Beauty of a delivery from Adil Rashid. Flighted delivery just outside off, Dockrell looks to defend but misses it due to the sharp away turn on this one. It just misses the outside edge by a whisker. Adil Rashid finishes his spell with figures of 9-0-27-1. 183/7
  • 39.5 Loopy delivery on off, Dockrell blocks it off his back foot.

  • 38.2 BEATEN! On a good length and outside off, Dockrell looks to drive but misses it due to the outswing on this one.
  • 38.1 FOUR! Poor delivery from Plunkett. Short delivery on middle, Dockrell pulls it through mid-wicket for a boundary.
  • 37.6 BEATEN! Tossed up just outside off, Murtagh looks to cut but misses it due to the turn on this one. 174/7
  • 37.5 Tossed up on off, George defends it towards the off side and takes a run.
  • 37.4 Flighted delivery on middle, Murtagh flicks it towards mid-wicket for a run.
  • 37.3 Floated on off, Murtagh plays it to covers but the fielder quickly goes for a direct hit at the keeper's end but misses it. No run taken.
  • 37.2 Tossed up on middle, Murtagh keeps it out.
  • 37.1 NOT OUT! Murtagh is in! Maybe if Foakes was standing behind the stumps, it would have been closer. This is worked towards fine leg. They take one and go for the second. The fielder throws it to the keeper who is standing ahead of the stumps. He collects it and then takes a long time to take the bails off. The appeal follows and the umpire takes it upstairs. Replays roll in and they show the batter is in.
  • Run out appeal! Foakes appeals but it looked like not out since the keeper was ahead of the stumps and had to turn the whole way round, the batsman may have got in.
  • 36.6 On a length on off, Murtagh defends it towards point and takes a single. 170/7
  • 36.5 On a good length and outside off, Tim looks to slash at this one but gets a bottom edge on this one.

  • 36.1 On a good length on middle, Murtagh looks to flick but gets hit low on the pads. It goes towards the leg side for a run. The umpire gives it as a leg bye.
  • Powerplay 3 signalled. 5 fielders can be outside the inner circle now till the end of the innings. Liam Plunkett is meanwhile back into the attack.
  • 35.6 The googly and Murtagh works this against the turn for a run. 167/7
  • 35.5 Gives it a lot of air and bowls it around off, it angles away. Tim is once again beaten as he tries to defend.
  • 35.4 The googly, Murtagh goes back and keeps it out.
  • 35.3 DROPPED! That was not a sitter. That was muscled towards Rashid. Floated on middle, Murtagh smashes it uppishly towards Rashid who tries to take the catch but spills it at the last moment. He took his eyes off the ball at the very end.
  • 35.2 Floated on middle, Murtagh flicks it to the leg side.
  • 35.1 Tossed up on middle, Dockrell sweeps it through mid-wicket for a single.

  • 34.3 On a good length on middle, George keeps it out.
  • 34.2 BEATEN! On a good length and outside off, Dockrell looks to defend but misses it due to the inward movement on this one.
  • 34.1 Good shot but the outfield being heavy means the ball won't reach the boundary. A really full one on middle, flicked away by Dockrell through mid-wicket. The fielder in the deep comes around and picks it up.
  • 33.6 Tossed up on off, Tim blocks it off his front foot. 162/7
  • 33.5 BEATEN! Bowls a googly outside off, Murtagh looks to defend but misses it due to the away turn on this one.

  • 32.5 Again on the shorter side, Murtagh pulls it to Archer.
  • 32.4 Short delivery on middle, Murtagh pulls it towards Archer who tries to stop it but it his foot and goes to mid on.
  • 32.3 Full on middle, Murtagh plays it back towards the bowler.
  • Tim Murtagh is the new batsman in.
  • 32.2 OUT! The off stump is sent cartwheeling. Maiden ODI wicket for Archer and there could have been no better sight for him. A yorker right at the base of off stump, Adair misses the ball as he fails to bring his bat down in time and that means only one thing. The stump loses its position. Bowled 'em! 46-run stand comes to an end. Adair walks out after playing a decent innings on debut.
  • 32.1 On a length outside off, Dockrell plays it with soft hands to the off side smartly and gets Adair on strike.
  • 31.6 SIX! Consecutive sixes for Adair. These are amazing shots from him. Curran bowls short of a length delivery, Adair picks it well and pulls it over mid-wicket for a biggie. 14 runs have come from the over. Big over for Ireland and a much-needed one. 156/6
  • 31.5 Bowls a bouncer outside off, Adair lets it sail through to the keeper.
  • 31.4 On a good length on middle, Adair blocks it off his back foot.
  • 31.3 SIX! 150 up for Ireland. THAT IS CLOBBERED AWAY! Tom Curran bowls short on middle, Adair pulls it over mid-wicket for a maximum.
  • 31.2 On a length and top of off stump, Dockrell dabs it on the leg side away from mid-wicket for a run.
  • 31.1 On a length and aimed at the pads, Adair misses the flick. The ball goes off the thigh pad and onto the leg side for a leg bye.

  • 30.3 On a length on middle, Dockrell flicks it towards square leg for a single.
  • 30.2 Full toss on off, Adair drives it through covers. Liam Plunkett chases it and slides in time to stop it just before the ropes. The batsmen get three runs.

  • 28.2 Short and outside off, Adair cuts it through point for a run.
  • 28.1 Full on middle, Dockrell flicks it towards backward square leg for a single.
  • 27.6 Left alone outside off by Adair as he does not need to play at those. 124/6
  • 27.5 Outside off, the batsman fails to put bat on ball. Could have so easily been an outside edge there.
  • 27.4 Back of a length on top of off, Adair goes for the pull but fails to hit it cleanly. The ball goes off the inner half and onto the body.
  • 27.3 Pushed towards mid-wicket on the back foot by Dockrell.

  • 26.5 Wide! Bowled down the leg side and it is wided.
  • 26.4 Flatter on leg, kept out towards mid-wicket.
  • 26.3 FOUR! First boundary for Adair. A flighted ball on off, Mark comes down the ground and hits the ball to the left of mid on. A welcome boundary.

  • 25.2 A little too straight, it is worked towards mid-wicket.
  • 25.1 Flighted on middle, this is whipped through square leg for a single.
  • 24.6 Dockrell comes ahead and defends the ball onto the surface. Good over from Denly ends. England choking the Irish here now. 112/6
  • 24.5 First run in ODIs! A flatter one on the pads, Adair flicks the ball off his pads to deep square leg for a single.
  • 24.4 Defended off the front foot by the batsman presenting the full face of the bat.
  • 24.3 Driven towards mid off by Adair to this flighted ball outside off.
  • Mark Adair walks out to the middle now!
  • 24.3 OUT! Foakes, you beauty! He has removed the bails when the batsman has lifted his foot slightly. A wide ball down the leg side, Balbirnie looks to sweep it away but misses the ball. His back foot is inside the crease but Andy lifts it slightly and Ben behind the stumps who has the presence of mind, removes the bails at the same exact moment. That is why he was so confident. He appeals and the leg umpire takes it to the third umpire. The replays roll in and show us that the keeper has pulled off a brilliant wicket due to his glovework and smartness here. The set batsman departs and despite bowling a wide, Denly will be happy as he has got a wicket! Two new batsmen who have not faced a ball out in the middle now for Ireland and will look to take them to safer shores.
  • Stumping appeal off a wide! Foakes seems really confident and was pointing at the batsman's foot after removing the bails. He feels that the foot has been lifted. Has it?
  • 24.2 Another flighted one on off, the batsman comes ahead and defends the ball into the ground.
  • 24.1 Flighted generously outside off, pushed on the front foot towards cover.
  • 23.6 End of a brilliant over! Just a single and a wicket from it. Dockrell plants his front foot forward and defends it out. 110/5
  • 23.5 The slider on middle, Dockrell goes back and defends it.
  • 23.4 Flatter and on middle, Dockrell blocks it out.
  • George Dockrell walks out at number 7.
  • 23.3 OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Rashid strikes and Ireland have lost half their side now. Wilson falls into the trap there. Rashid was continuously tossing this one up outside off, wanting to Wilson to go after it. Rashid does that again here. This time it is just behind a driving length and hence giving the ball a little more time to spin. Wilson leans into it and then tries to push it but the little turn induces the outside edge and goes into the hands of Joe Root at first slip. Ireland slip further as another budding stand comes to an end.
  • 23.2 Gives it a lot of air and lands it on off, Wilson strokes it to covers.
  • 23.1 Plays the sweep shot but straight to the fielder at deep square leg. Only a run.
  • 22.6 A paddle sweep this time from Wilson. A couple of runs are taken as the ball goes fine on the leg side. 3 runs come off this over. 109/4
  • 22.5 Wilson comes well ahead and defends this ball into the ground.
  • 22.4 Flighted on the pads, turned away through square leg for a run.
  • 22.3 Flatter one on middle, defended by the batsman with a straight bat.
  • 22.2 The batsman flicks it away with a wristy shot but straight to the fielder.
  • 22.1 NOT OUT! No they have not. Decision reviewed! The noise which made England appeal was that on bat hitting pad. A flatter one outside off, Balbirnie looks to cut the ball but fails to put bat on ball. He hits the pad with his bat while trying to play the shot and that made a noise which confuses the keeper. Foakes collects and appeals. The umpire raises his finger but the batsman reviews straightaway. Replays roll in and show us the ball was nowhere near the bat. The umpire apologizes and reverses his decision.
  • Have England got another? Balbirnie has been given out caught behind. He reviews straightaway though so there might not be an edge.
  • 21.6 Good ball! A leg spinner outside off and turns just enough to go past the outside edge of Wilson's bat while he was trying to push the ball through covers. 106/4
  • 21.5 Flighted outside off, driven away along the ground to deep cover for a run by AB.
  • 21.4 Flighted on middle, pushed back down the ground towards the bowler.
  • 21.3 This time the batsman puts bat on ball and sweeps it away to deep square leg for a run.
  • 21.2 Outside off and Wilson looks to play the sweep but misses the ball due to the pace of the delivery.
  • 21.1 Flatter one outside off, cut away to deep cover for a single by Balbirnie.
  • Drinks break! What had panned out to be a good start for the Irish was all gone in a very short period of play between the 12th and 16th over. They lost 4 wickets for 22 runs after 55 runs for the opening stand. Currently, Balbirnie and Wilson are in the midst of a rebuilding attempt with an unbeaten partnership worth 26. They need a lot more though. England meanwhile would want a couple more to enter the tail. Let's see how it pans out!
  • 20.6 The batsman drives this through the covers. 103/4
  • 20.5 This is worked with the angle through mid-wicket for a run.
  • 20.4 Gives it a lot of air on off, AB strokes it to covers.
  • 20.3 Wilson steps down the track but this is bowled on a shorter length. It is guided to point and a run is taken. The fielder does have a shy at the non-striker's end but misses.
  • 20.2 Flatter and on off, AB goes back and pushes it through covers for a single.
  • 20.1 Floats it nicely on middle, Balbirnie looks to drive it with the turn but there ain't any. It goes off the inner half to mid-wicket.
  • 19.6 This one was dragged down, the ball is cut away for a single to deep cover by Balbirnie. That brings up the 100 for the hosts! 100/4
  • 19.5 The attempted sweep this time from Balbirnie but no placement or timing there.
  • 19.4 Punched off the back foot towards the bowler. This one was a googly that spun back in sharply and Andy looked like he was stuck in the crease for a bit. He manages to keep it out well though.
  • 19.3 Four byes! A leg spinner on off and turns away in the end. Foakes misses the ball too as the batsman misses his sweep as well. Looks like he lost sight of the ball. Slip also dives to stop the ball but fails to do so. Goes away to the rope. Signalled byes!
  • 19.2 FOUR! Flighted outside off, Balbirnie lofts the ball over mid-wicket. Off the middle of the bat and no fielder in the deep means that is a sure shot boundary.
  • 19.2 Wide! Way outside off, the ball ends up outside the tramline. Wided by the umpire.
  • 19.1 Flighted outside off, driven along the ground to deep cover for a run.
  • 18.6 AB works it down the leg side towards mid-wicket safely. 89/4
  • 18.5 SIX! Huge from Balbirnie. Andy decides he is not just gonna hang around doing nothing. A flighted ball on off, the batsman goes on his knee and lifts the ball over deep mid-wicket with ease against the turn. The ball ends in the stands.
  • 18.4 Pushed on the front foot towards mid-wicket.
  • 18.3 Cut away wide of point for a couple of runs off the back foot as this ball is flatter and wide outside off.
  • 18.2 Wilson flicks it away with a wristy shot. The batsmen have run through for a single.
  • 18.1 Starts off with a flighted one outside off, it is defended off the front foot by the batsman presenting the full face of the bat.
  • Joe Denly is on now! Spin from both ends.
  • 17.6 Balbirnie keeps this flighted ball outside off out towards point. 80/4
  • 17.5 Worked down the leg side for a single by Wilson.
  • 17.4 Extra bounce and that almost does the trick! A shorter one outside off, the googly. Bounces more and Wilson was looking to keep it out but was in an awkard position. The ball goes off the outside half of the top portion of the bat. Goes slightly uppishly but well away from slip. Lucky for Ireland.
  • 17.3 Slower through the air this time, Wilson pushes it back down the ground with soft hands.
  • 17.2 Flatter on middle, pushed back down the ground from the crease by Wilson.
  • 17.1 Flighted outside off, pushed towards mid-wicket coming well ahead by the batsman.
  • Adil Rashid is now on to roll his arm over.
  • 16.6 Kept out on the back foot by Balbirnie to end another good over for England. 79/4
  • 16.5 Dug into the ground as the ball was full outside off. A quick single is picked up.
  • 16.4 Oooh! That could have been out. A fuller length ball on middle, Wilson almost played that down the wrong line. The ball takes the outside half and goes towards the left of point. No run though.
  • 16.3 On top of off stump, pushed towards mid-wicket for a single by Balbirnie. He moves into double figures now.
  • 16.2 Left alone as this ball is on a length outside off. Andy watches the ball all the way into the keeper's glove.
  • 16.1 Fuller outside off, pushed towards mid off by Balbirnie.
  • 15.6 On a length outside off, driven towards cover by Wilson on the front foot. 77/4
  • Gary Wilson walks in at number 6.
  • 15.5 OUT! What a catch! Joe Denly at point. The hosts are losing their way here. A huge wicket and Ireland have slipped from 55/0 to 77/4! Curran bowls this slightly outside off and draws the push drive from Kevin O'Brien. The ball flies off the outside half and towards the left of point where Denly dives full length and holds onto the catch. Excellent fielding this.
  • 15.4 This time the drive is in the gap and it goes to long off for a single.
  • 15.3 Slightly fuller outside off, pushed off the front foot towards extra cover.
  • 15.2 On the length, flicked away through square leg for a couple of runs by Balbirnie. Good running means they can come back for the second and complete it easily.
  • 15.1 Fuller length ball on middle, driven to mid on along the ground by Balbirnie.
  • 14.6 FOUR! What a way to get off the mark! A length ball outside off, Kevin O'Brien punches it off the back foot and past cover. The ball races away to deep cover. Excellent timing. 74/3
  • Kevin O'Brien is the new man in!
  • 14.5 OUT! That is catching practice! A length ball outside off, Tucker looks to drive on the up. The ball holds up in the wicket as it is a bit sticky. It carries easily to Morgan to cover. He is not going to drop those. Tucker is the one to depart when it was looking all along like Balbirnie was not finding things easy. Such is the game, the ODI debut innings lasts 5 balls for Tucker.
  • 14.4 FOUR! Easy pickings. A length ball on the pads, Tucker tucks it past short fine leg for a boundary.
  • 14.3 Fuller length outside off, driven wide of mid off for a single.
  • 14.2 DROPPED! That could have been caught and bowled but Plunkett just could not hold on. A length ball which holds on the pitch slightly. Balbirnie looks to drive on the up but ends up hitting it uppishly towards the bowler's right. Plunkett on his followthrough does not get low enough and though he gets his right hand down, he cannot hold on as the ball goes past him after grazing his fingers.
  • 14.1 Pulled away without timing to deep square leg for a run by Tucker. He is 3 off 3 so far with 3 singles.
  • 13.6 On the pads, worked away through mid-wicket for a couple of runs by Andy. A decent over by Curran, plugging away at the off stump except for the last ball. 64/2
  • 13.5 Fuller on middle, driven along the ground to mid on by Balbirnie.
  • 13.4 Good line! Just outside off and on a length, the batsman keeps it back down the ground watchfully.
  • 13.3 On the off pole again, Balbirnie leans into it and defends it onto the ground.
  • 13.2 Back of a length on off, AB opens the face of the bat and guides it to point.
  • 13.1 Howzzat? The answer to that question is not out! A little too straight by Curran. Tucker looks to flick but misses to get hit high on the pads. Curran is appealing as the ball rolls towards square leg. The batsmen take one. It is given as a run though. The umpire must have felt there is an inside edge. Ultra Edge shows nothing though but Hawk Eye shows the ball to be clipping the top of leg stump so it would have remained not out.
  • 12.6 Off the mark straightaway. A length ball outside off, eased away past backward point for a single by Tucker. 61/2
  • Lorcan Tucker is the new man in.
  • 12.5 OUT! There is a clear deviation and the ball has indeed gone off the glove. Porterfield could have walked earlier perhaps but he was taking a chance against England not reviewing. A length ball on the leg stump line, Porterfield looks to pull it away but ends up gloving it to Foakes who collects and then appeals loudly. The umpire though is unmoved. England review and the replays immediately suggest the ball went off the glove. Two wickets in quick succession for England, they are coming back into the game strongly. Ireland need to rebuild now.
  • Review time! Appeal for caught behind. Porterfield seems to have gloved that one behind but the umpire was unmoved. England review and wait, suddenly Porterfield starts walking. The decision though will be made upstairs...

  • Andy Balbirnie walks out at number 3.
  • 11.4 OUT! It is clean as a whistle. Curran strikes! The promising opening stand has been cut short! Not sure if that shot was needed but that is how Stirling plays. He lives by the sword and dies by it. He dances down the track and Curran bowls it on a length. Stirling looks to go over mid on but does not time it. He ends up hitting it low towards Archer who takes it with a dive forward. Stirling though is not sure whether it has carried and holds his ground. The umpires take it upstairs to check whether it has. Replays roll in and show it has. Stirling walks back after getting off to a start. Can England now build on this?

The visitors go for the review. There is nothing on the Ultra Edge. Hawk Eye shows that it is umpire's call and it is clipping the top of the middle stump. It could have gone either way.
  • Action straightaway! An appeal for an LBW has been turned down. England review. Looks close.

Ireland Vs England Live Score (ODI) Ball by Ball Commentary

  • That is it from the One-off ODI! England avoided the upset, yes they were missing many of their top stars but still, had they lost, it would have been a morale-deflating one. Ireland's performance on the other hand, should give them a lot of confidence. They would surely want to carry this forward into the Tri-series coming up for them. They play their first game against West Indies on Sunday at 1045 local (0945 GMT). England, on the flip side, are playing Pakistan on the same day but in a T20I game. That match will be played in Cardiff at 1430 local (1330 GMT). Join in for those two. Till then, take care and goodbye!
  • Victorious England skipper, Eoin Morgan tells us that they felt challenged at certain stages of the game. He informs that the wicket was tough to bat on. Mentions that they bowled really well. He also admits that 3-4 of the English batsmen batted poorly. Praises Ben Foakes who made 2 crucial partnerships which took them over the line. Says that Jofra Archer had a good start to his international career and that it was a good opportunity to bowl some overs. Regarding the T20 coming up, the England captain says that the Kiara oval been a great venue for them and that he looks forward to Sunday afternoon, expecting a great atmosphere.
  • Ireland skipper, William Porterfield says that they could have had a few more runs there. Feels they needed a few more partnerships, but overall with 3 debutants playing, they did really well. He reserves praise for Joshua Little and mentions he bowled with a lot of heart, bringing what he is known for in the domestic circuit. Signs off by saying that they have to really buck up and perform in the next 15-20 days where they could be playing 7 ODIs!
  • Man of the Match, Ben Foakes says that the conditions were tricky and they had to stick it in on a slow pitch. The key was to stay till the end and eventually they got a few bad balls that took them over the line.
  • Ireland's bowling was commendable, actually, it was another debutant who shone, Joshua Little, he bowled with pace and finished with a 4-fer. He was well-supported by Murtagh but no other bowler looked threatening. They would also rue the missed review they did not take against Foakes when England needed around 60 but all-in-all they can be happy with their effort. The presentation to follow...
  • England had a decent start to the game as their openers added 34 for the first wicket. However, once James fell, wickets started to fall in quick succession. England soon found themselves reeling at 66 for 5. Ireland would have surely sensed a victory there but England's insane depth in the batting came to their rescue. Ben Foakes along with the all-rounders took them over the line. First with Willey, added a handy stand and then came the match-winning stand with Curran of 98. The two played really sensible, showed a lot of maturity in the partnership. The debutant scored his maiden half ton and Tom Curran finished on an unbeaten 47.
  • What an excellent game we have witnessed. In the end, it ends as everyone expected it to with England coming out on top but credit to Ireland for the way they have fought. Especially after being bundled out for 198. Not many thought this is going to be a close game but the second half had a script of its own.
  • 42.1 FOUR AND IT IS A NO BALL! England have sealed the deal in style in the end! A short ball and around middle, TC goes back and pulls it hard through mid-wicket and the ball races away. He has also overstepped so an extra run which means, 5 and England needed 5. SO THEY WIN ONLY ODI BY 4 WICKETS!

  • 38.1 Good length and on off, the batter strokes it to mid off. Another dot, pressure building here.

  • 28.3 NOT OUT! No, the replays suggest clearly that the ball has dropped short of the glove. A short ball around the ribs height, a little down the leg side. Curran looks to run it down but only gets a faint glove on it. The ball luckily for him does not carry to the keeper who collects it on a bounce down the leg side. • A decision to be made taken upstairs! Ireland believe they have caught Tom Curran down the leg side and Wilson believes that he has taken it cleanly. The umpires though think the ball has bounced and gives the soft signal as not out. Let's see if the replays can make him reverse the decision!
