Campus and community resources

SMU's main concern is for the safety, health and well-being of our campus community. When sexual misconduct occurs, it is critical that campus community members obtain help.

In cases of sexual assault, dating violence or domestic violence, students are urged to obtain medical care and contact police as soon as possible.

The following resources are available to all students, including students who have been accused of sexual misconduct, witnesses in these cases and friends of students involved in these cases.

CAMPUS RESOURCES

Please note: To the extent possible, the following campus officials will protect the privacy of all parties involved in a report, but are required to report cases of sexual misconduct to SMU’s Title IX Coordinator for follow-up. In addition, the following officials are some of the persons at SMU who are required by the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, or Clery Act, to serve as Campus Security Authorities and notify SMU Police when a case of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence or stalking has been reported. However, they are not required to provide the name of the person reporting the case.
