The beauty mavens, fashion enthusiasts, fitness inspos, movie stars and song birds – these are the bright stars we see greater success twinkling in their eyes:

Fitness

Mapule Ndhlovu

Known by her social media name Queenfitnass, Mapule sneaked in a strong magazine cover in 2018 for Women’s Health and absolutely wowed as one of the faces of Shield South Africa and Adidas. So naturally we think how she can top this? Well she probably will this year.

Her entertaining dancing Instagram videos and powerful training sessions make Mapule the ultimate fitness inspiration.

Rushda Moosajee

Fitness trainer Rushda has been a model inspiration for fitness and wellness. Rush Tush, as she is also known, has shared her goals of pursuing holistic wellness to continue guiding women on their journey to wellness.

She’s already the go-to person for many women seeking assistance to achieve their holistic health goals. Watch out 2019.

Fashion

Palesa Mahlaba

Palesa has long been good at making fashion feel accessible and aspirational. She’s been teasing skincare and fitness to add to her repertoire of fashion content and just like her Insta account, the future looks even brighter for Palesa who was one of the first real influencers in South Africa.

The state of our economy means that we have to tighten our belts this year, but we still need to dream a little right, and treat ourselves every now and again. Palesa is the perfect account to follow to keep our moods uplifted.

Film

Marsai Martin

Marsai has begun 2019 with a bang as the executive producer of the hilarious movie, Little. She is known for her role on Black-ish as the feisty Diane Johnson and last year she was one of Teen Vogue’s 21 Under 21, a list of girls who “will not wait for permission to change the world”.

Little will be released, 12 April 2019.

Saoirse Ronan

Saoirse was the lead actress in the 2017 hit movie Lady Bird, which earned her a Golden Globe award for best actress last year. She’s also in the star studded movie Little Women to be released this year. The 24 year old is also featured on the stunning 25th Vanity Fair Hollywood issue. That's a very big nod to her achievements and future successes.

Beauty

Refiloe Nkoane

Refiloe already boasts a healthy following with her beautifully-styled blogger content. In 2018 she featured in the Essence #TeamFlawless campaign and we suspect this is just the beginning for Refiloe.

Music

Sho Madjozi

Last year the Huku hitmaker gave an explosive performance at the Global Citizen Festival (cosigned by Ava DuVernay), partnered with Edgars on a fashion collection and released her third album Limpopo Champions League. Sparks are already flying for Sho Madjozi this year - she recently represented South Africa at the CTM Festival in Berlin and since we believe 2019 is going to be way better than 2018, her star is just going to grow bigger and bigger.

We've got out eye on some newcomers and women you may not have yet heard of before. We'd love to add your suggestions to our list, so please let us know who you would like to see blow up this year, here
