Updated periodically, these listings give brief descriptions of some of the more significant items recently added to the National Library's collections. Included are new items for the printed, pictures, manuscript, oral history, map, Asian and online collections.

Two signed watercolours by Ellis Rowan were found at an op-shop in New South Wales and donated to the Library in 2018.
This map, in near-pristine condition, belonged to ACT surveyor Charles Robert Scrivener and makes a wonderful addition to the Library’s collection.
The Smalltown series of fifty photographs by Martin Mischkulnig documents small settlements across the country between 2005 and 2007.
This original map cartouche was designed in 1659 and was used in the engraving of the Blaeu wall map of New Holland which is also part of the Library’s collection.
Maiva’s Island Home was deposited by Library for All, a Queensland organisation with a mission to source, create and deliver affordable, accessible educational material for communities around the world.
Published in 1904, the only other known copy of My Kangaroo: a tail of love is held by the British Library.
The first digital newspaper to be deposited was The Monaro Post: The Independent Newspaper of the Snowy Monaro Region, an independently published and fully digital newspaper.
The Darwin Rondalla Stringband spent two days recording music in the Library’s Oral History studios and were the Library’s annual guest performer for the National Folk Festival.
