Safety and Wellbeing

Safety and Wellbeing

All members of our university community have a right to feel welcome, respected and safe. At James Cook University, we are committed to ensuring that our working and learning environment is free from discrimination and harassment, including sexual harassment and sexual assault.

The behaviour of each and every one of us can support this in a positive way. If you witness behaviour on campus or online that is inappropriate, or could compromise another person’s safety or well-being, you should report it. When it is safe to do so, you should also speak up to support and look after your friends, colleagues and others.

JCU is partnering with other Australian universities in a national initiative led by Universities Australia. The Respect. Now. Always. campaign highlights the determination of Australia's universities to ensure students and staff are safe from sexual assault and sexual harassment.
