Research and Teaching Performance
Research Performance
Ranked in the World's Top 2%
JCU is a leader in teaching and research addressing the critical challenges facing the Tropics, worldwide. JCU ranked in the top 2% of universities in the pre-eminent global rankings system, the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU, 2017), for the sixth year in a row.
Excellence for Research in Australia (ERA)
Australia's national research evaluation framework, ERA identifies and promotes excellence across the full spectrum of research activity in Australia's higher education institutions. This unique dataset covers all Australian research outputs, staffing and activity since 2003, and research income and application data since 2006.
Engagement and Impact 2018 (EI)
In December 2015, as part of its National Innovation and Science Agenda (NISA), the Australian Government announced the development of a national Engagement and Impact (EI) assessment to assess how universities are translating their research into economic, environmental, social and other benefits.
Following a pilot in 2017, the Australian Research Council (ARC) has conducted the first full round of EI. Assessments will be published by the ARC in 2019. See Engagement and Impact 2018 to access JCU submission information (JCU staff only access).
