LTSE Transitions & Retention First Year Experience
First Year Experience
First Year Experience (FYE) is a term used to describe students' experiences in their first year of university study.
JCU recognises the significant challenges facing first-year students and acknowledges their diversity and varying social and educational needs and aspirations. As such, the University is committed to a whole-of-university approach in the provision of a positive FYE. This focus links directly to JCU's University Plan and Strategic Intent.
Student transition, support, success and retention are shared responsibilities; they are "everybody's business". If you have suggestions for this website or would like to access additional readings and resources on the first year experience at JCU, please contact the Directorate.
