Do you charge sales tax?

Christianbook.com collects sales tax for the following states: AL, AR, CT, CO, DC, GA, HI, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MA, ME, MD, MI, MN, MS, NC, ND, NE, NJ, NV, NY OH, OK, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, UT, VT, WA, WV, WI, WY. We also charge the prevailing local sales tax on orders shipped to Canada and Australia. Otherwise, we do not charge sales tax.

What tax exempt forms do I need to submit?

Please consult your local state agency as to what forms are required by your state to be tax exempt. Note: Sales tax is based on the state the order is shipping to.

How do I submit tax exempt forms?

To submit your forms you may log into your account and click on the "Add Tax Exempt Certificate" link, or email the forms to customer.service@christianbook.com.

Can more than 1 person use the same tax exempt number?

Tax exempt status is given to organizations and not to individuals. However, multiple people at the organization can use the same tax exempt forms. Each person would have to submit the form to be added to their account.

Note: The following states requre the order & the payment to be in the name of your organization, not that of an individual at your organization--CT, FL, IL, IN, KS, KY, ME, MO, MI, NH, NV, NY, TN, UT, VA, WY.

I already placed an order, can I be refunded for tax?

Yes, please submit your tax exempt forms and we’ll refund you the amount of tax charged on the order.

Tax Information for AL Residents

Alabama: The following required message applies to taxable transactions delivered into Alabama.
Seller has collected the simplified sellers use tax on taxable transactions delivered into Alabama and the tax will be remitted on the customer’s behalf to the Alabama Department of Revenue.
Seller’s program account number is SSU-R010162935.
