Watch Janelle Monáe's Sci-Fi film 'Dirty Computer'

Janelle Monáe's highly anticipated new album Dirty Computer finally dropped on Friday. The Kansas singer-songwriter didn't just deliver some exciting new music, she also released a visual companion in the form of a 48-minutes long dystopian sci-fi film described as an "emotion picture" and starring actress Tessa Thompson (Thor: Ragnarok, Westworld). It was first premiered on BET and MTV on April 26, before being made available online the day after.

The film continues to refine Janelle's Afrofuturistic aesthetics while exploring universal themes as explained in the press release: "Dirty Computer explores humanity and what truly happens to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness when mind and machines merge, and when the government chooses fear over freedom."
