Lee Sora & Suga Debut on World Digital Song Sales With 'Song Request'

The sentimental single marks the first entry for the BTS member using his original stage name.

The Billboard charts got to meet both Lee Sora and Suga this week thanks to the Korean ballad singer's new collaboration with the BTS rapper.

Lee Sora's "Song Request" featuring Suga debuts at No. 2 on Billboard's World Digital Song Sales chart this week with 3,000 downloads sold in the week ending Jan. 24, according to Nielsen Music. Notably, the song's Jan. 22 release gave it less than two days to rack up sales.

While this is technically the first World Digital Songs entry for both Lee and Suga, the 25-year-old rapper has bowed on the charts using his solo alias Agust D which counts for Billboard tracking purposes. Suga (real name Min Yoongi) has sent to both his Agust D mixtape to the World and Heatseekers Albums charts, and has also landed four entries from the tape on World Digital Song Sales, hitting as high as No. 4 with "Give It to Me." And while it was officially credited as BTS, the song "Trivia : Seesaw" from the band's Billboard 200–topping Love Yourself: Answer album was performed by Suga and nearly made a Hot 100 debut when it peaked at No. 22 on the Hot 100 Bubbling Under chart.

Among the BTS entries on World Digital Song Sales that have been officially credited to the specific members (and not "BTS"), five of the seven members have made solo appearances.

RM made the first appearance in 2015 when his track "P.D.D" with Warren G bowed in the Top 10 (when RM was still known as Rap Monster). But RM's highest solo entry came late last year when he featured on Tiger JK's "Timeless," which peaked at No. 4 on the chart.

Meanwhile, J-Hope is the only member to hit No. 1 when "Daydream," the lead single to his Hope World mixtape, hit No. 1 in early 2018. Plus, members Jin and V teamed up for a soundtrack contribution song titled "It's Definitely You" that peaked at No. 8 on the chart in February 2017. All the BTS members have recorded and released songs on their own, but many times the artist credited for the track remains as BTS.
