About the Department

TechCentral is an innovative technology and learning center providing services to Main Library and all 27 branch locations. Located in the Lower Level of the Louis Stokes Wing of the Main Library, TechCentral offers a variety of computer and technology-related services.

Computer and Internet Access at Main Library

Access one of nearly 90 computers in the TechCentral Computer Area on the Lower Level of the Louis Stokes Wing of the Main Library. All computers are equipped with Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2010, WinWay Resume Creator, and Rapid Typing Tutor. Adaptive Technology Stations equipped with Jaws, ZoomText, and Sorenson Video Relay service are also available.

Family and Group Workstations, as well as collaborative work seating areas are available for teams and groups to work on projects. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the Main Library, and power outlets are conveniently located throughout TechCentral.

Cell Phone Charging Station

Lock and charge your Android or iPhone in our charging dock in the computer lab. The charging station has 10 locker bays and is open subject to availability.

Computer Instruction and One-on-One Assistance

TechCentral workers are available for one-on-one, in-person computer tutorials. Call (216) 623-2980 for more information. Please keep appointments to one hour.

MakerSpace

The TechCentral MakerSpace is a cutting-edge space equipped with industry-standard technology and fabrication, equipment, and software, allowing you to turn your ideas into reality. 3D Printing and Scanning, Vinyl and Laser Fabrication, as well as Music, Audio, and Video production are all available in the MakerSpace. Learn more about the TechCentral MakerSpace.

MakerSpace Mondays

Attend a guided, free one-hour workshop each Monday throughout the month to learn about the machines in our MakerSpace. Workshops begin at 11am, and no sign up is necessary.

3D Printing

MakerLab Hands-on and Creative Programming

Learn how to create something new by attending one of our MakerLab series programs available at Main Library and throughout our branches.
