CRPF jawan killed in terror attack in Srinagar, 2 hurt

A CRPF paramilitary trooper was killed and two injured in a terrorist attack on the 23rd Bn CRPF party in the busy area of Batmaloo, Srinagar, on Tuesday.

According to police officials, terrorists targeted the party by taking advantage of the crowd near the Fire and Emergency department; they fled after firing several rounds. As per a local news agency in Srinagar, terror outfit Hizbul has claimed responsibility for the attack. "CRPF trooper constable Shanket Lal succumbed to serious injuries," said a police official.


According to CRPF spokesperson Sanjeev Sharma, a manhunt has been launched to nab the attackers. Intelligence reports suggest that four to six armed terrorists are hiding in Srinagar city. Anil Raina
