A reporter and a photographer from ABC10 rescued four dogs that were trapped in an encampment in Butte County as the deadly Camp Fire closed in.

In a video released by ABC10, reporter Brandon Rittiman and photographer Pedro Garcia spot a group of dogs locked behind a fence as flames from the Camp Fire rage in the background.

As the two approach the fence, the dogs begin to frantically jump on the wiring before getting released.

After freeing the dogs, Rittiman and Garcia brought them to a Butte County Sheriff's Deputy, who assumed custody of the dogs.

The dogs were wearing tags, and Rittiman said he would call the owner.
