If the Great Gilroy Garlic Fries Saga of 2016 didn't lure you out of your diet then, McDonald's is trying harder with its latest regional offering for the Bay Area.

Say hello to Cheesy. Bacon. Fries.

The fast food chain is gifting the Bay Area with a limited-time offering of its fries, smothered in cheddar cheese sauce and topped with bits of crunchy, Applewood-smoked bacon.

But rather than keep the specialty fries to just four locations, like the initial release of its garlic predecessors, these fries will be thankfully available at more locations.

The Bay Area, and also Hawaii, will be noshing on cheesy bacon fries starting Wednesday through the end of the year.

The cheesy fries have drawn comparisons to competitor Wendy's Baconator Fries, similarly topped with cheese and bacon, but honestly, there has probably been zero times a restaurant has ever gone wrong with serving up any type of loaded fries.

If you are a True Fast Food Aficionado, you may already know that McDonald's has previously tested a similar dish in the past, in other locations — named, true-to-form, "Loaded Bacon and Cheese Basket of Fries" — but this is the first time the fries will be offered in this area.
