That became official Saturday when the inside linebacker was ruled out of Monday night’s meeting against the Giants at Levi’s Stadium because of a pulled hamstring. Foster, who missed the 49ers’ win over the Raiders on Nov. 1, has also been dealing with a strained right shoulder this season.
With a bye next week, Foster will have had a month to get healthy, assuming he returns when the 49ers visit Tampa Bay on Nov. 25. He will be replaced Monday by

The 49ers adjusted their practice times during the week because of the poor air quality in Santa Clara. The NFL has said it will be monitoring the air quality leading up to Monday’s game.
“We’re ready to play and I don’t plan on things changing,” Shanahan said. “If they do, it’s because it needs to.”
