Here's where to ice skate outdoors in the Bay Area this holiday season

As the temperatures get chilly, outdoor ice rinks are beginning to open all over the Bay Area.

San Francisco may be home to the most prominent holiday season rinks. The city contains the Union Square rink, surrounded by lit up storefronts and a giants Christmas tree, and another near the Ferry Building, and this year, locals will also get to skate outside City Hall at the new Winter Park rink, opening at the end of November.

Across the Bay, ice rinks are again scheduled in Alameda and Walnut Creek, as well as to the south, where skaters can visit outdoor skating locations in San Jose, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz.

San Francisco
