She believes in holding politicians accountable for their decisions or, often, lack thereof – and telling the stories of real people and their struggles.

Awards & Recognition

Knight’s awards include first place for column writing from Best of the West in 2018; best education story in the state in 2015 from the California Newspaper Association; the 2015 John Swett Award from the California Teachers Association; the John Swett Award in 2005; and numerous awards from the Peninsula Press Club.
