Nobel Prize Inspiration Initiative

Nobel Prize Inspiration Initiative St. Paul

25-26 April 2018

Nobel Laureate Mario MolinaMario Molina visited Minnesota for a Nobel Prize Inspiration Initiative event in April 2018. He met students and scientists in discussion sessions, and deliver his lecture 'Climate Change: Science and Policy'.

During the two-day event he visited 3M, University of Minnesota and Science Museum of Minnesota.

On the afternoon of 25 April, two further Laureates joined the agenda for a panel discussion at the University of Minnesota. Elizabeth Blackburn, Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine 2009, David Gross, Nobel Laureate in Physics 2004, Mario Molina, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry 1995, and two further panellists discussed how to approach grand challenges.

The Nobel Prize Inspiration Initiative is a global programme designed to help Nobel Laureates share their inspirational stories and insights. By taking Nobel Laureates on visits to universities and research centres around the world, and by capturing their thoughts on video, the Initiative seeks to bring the Laureates into closer contact with the worldwide scientific community, and especially with an audience of young scientists. The Nobel Prize Inspiration Initiative in St. Paul is organised by Nobel Media, the company managing digital media and meetings for the Nobel Prize, in partnership with 3M.
