The National Army Museum, is an army war museum in Waiouru, New Zealand, providing access to a unique collection of military exhibits, vehicles, memorabilia and public research material. The Museum is guardian to many of our national treasures, the displays are exceptional, the experience unforgettable.The Museum's Military Archive & Research Library is one of the leading military research centres in New Zealand. The Museum Gift Shop has an assortment of quality products for any special occasion. Kidz HQ is an interactive area for the children to enjoy; with puzzles, dress up and so much more. Our Cafe offers an array of tempting morsels to satisfy your taste buds.The National Army Museum open from 9.00am - 4.30pm seven days a week (with the exception of Christmas Day when the Museum is closed). Discover New Zealand's military history, engage with real life soldiers' stories and reflect on how conflict has shaped our nation.

A must if you are in the area. Collection of armoured vehicles on display is great, also a lot of interesting exhibits inside. If you are interested in military history, definitely go there. Highly recommended place!More

Well laid out museum. Great kids room and good museum kid activities. Kids can try on different outfits and hats. Lots of great information. Lots of great displays. My kids said the displays look like there are real people in them. That being said, wars...More

We visited on a wet day, and stayed long after the sun came out. Totally entranced - the museum kept us engaged and entertained for well over two hours, telling the military history of New Zealand. The hall of Remembrance at the entrance is beautiful...More

We visited on a rainy summer's day not really sure what to expect. The displays were excellent and covered military action from the NZ wars through to Afghanistan. There were a couple of special exhibitions including an excellent photographic display of the tunnels at Arras....More

A real part of NZ's history (although entry fee is $15.00 which is a little steep for a museum). If the history of our army is of interest then this is a must visit with lots of information and facts.
