    Dorothy Talbot (1871-1916) collected plants with her husband, Percy, in between 1909-16. These are now held in the specimen collections. This watercolour of Uvariastrum zenkeri is one of 600 of her drawings held in our research collections

    Thanks to detective work by & further info from , "Mme. Migneaux" has been identified as artist and colorist Hortense Léontia Deyrolle Migneaux and the wife of entomologist and artist Jules Migneaux (of "J. Migneaux dir.").

    The work features 14 color plates depicting 118 figures drawn from nature by Vinson. The plates are also signed "J. Migneaux dir." and "Mme. Migneaux col.". These are printmaking abbreviations for "directed by" and "hand-colored by".
