Cute cottage behind a white picket fence in the Bayview asks $779K
Just a few blocks from Third Street and the T line in one direction and the entrance to the 46-acre Bayview Park in the other, 962 Key St. is an adorable standalone cottage made even cuter by its white picket fence and landscaped front patio.
The 1912 home has only been on the market a handful of times in the last 106 years. The previous owners kept the property for 60 years and the current owners bought the property for in as-is condition for a mere $268,000 back in 2001. After purchasing the two-bedroom, one-bath home, the owners put on a new roof and installed new electrical service. They also updated the kitchen and bath with new paint and flooring, though they kept the original cabinets and vintage stove in the former, as well as the clawfoot tub in the latter. They are now asking $779,000.
The owners are not the current resident of the house, however. There is a tenant at the property. as you can tell from the delightful photo of the lower level bonus space, featuring an office chair covered by a blue t-shirt. This level also has the home’s washer-dryer and some additional storage space. Since it is unwarranted, is not included in the official square footage of 723.
