While many families enjoy spring break this week, Southern California’s theme parks are readying new attractions and lodgings for summer vacation.

Legoland California: The 250-room Legoland Castle Hotel opens April 27 at the park in Carlsbad (San Diego County), the first resort-style accommodations in the park. Next to the park’s main entrance, the hotel will offer themed rooms — Knights & Dragons, Royal Princess and Magic Wizard — with Lego building tables and a zero-entry pool with whirlpool spa, entertainment courtyard and cinema. Rates start at $601 for two adults and two children, with two-day park passes and breakfast included.
