Fabulous Telegraph Hill home with wallpaper galore listed for $4.595M

Just in case you hadn’t heard, wallpaper is back. The owners of 41 Castle Street in Telegraph Hill definitely got the memo. When they bought the four-bedroom, 4.5-bath single-family home in 2014, the wall coverings were pretty neutral, with lots of beige and grey paint.

Well, four years later, the home is back on the market asking $4.595 million and some parts of it are neutral no more. Sure, the open concept kitchen/dining/living area looks more or less the same, with all emphasis on a streamlined look that puts the stellar views from the large picture windows front and center. But in the master suite and the office, a simple swap to attention-grabbing wallpaper has made the spaces look completely different.

Take the master bath, for example. Without changing a single tile or countertop the room has been completely transformed by a woodland wallpaper. In the master bedroom, there’s new paint, new window treatments and, of course, a wallpapered accent wall behind the bed featuring an oversized floral motif.

But the biggest change is probably in the office, where an abstract wallpaper livens up the white shelving. Plus, new animal-print built-in seating in an adjacent area transforms what used to be a workout space into more of a lounge. Trulia called this “pattern on pattern” look the top design trend for 2018. We’ll give you one guess at number two.
