What is the Areo Publisher’s Club?
The Areo Publisher’s Club is a program that rewards our supporters with exclusive content, forums, and early access to selected articles.
Why “Areo Publisher’s Club”?
Yes, the name is a bit kitsch. But since supporters of Areo are literally helping me publish more articles, solicit editors and writers, and devote more time to this project, I think the name works.
What system do you use?
Patreon. A variety of large content creators, magazines, blogs, and YouTubers trust the platform.
What are the rewards I’ll receive for becoming a Club Member?

Associate Publisher — $1 a month
You’ll receive:
- Exclusive access to our What’s In the Works series, where I let our supporters know what essays and ideas we’re currently working on and what articles they can expect in the coming fortnight. It’s short and simple — but it’s a way of keeping you in the loop.
- You’ll also be helping Areo stay ad-free to bring you the best reader experience.
Contributing Publisher — $3 a month
You’ll receive:
- Early access by 3 days to our Feature articles and other selected articles. Readers who aren’t supporters at the Contributing Publisher level and above must wait till the article is released publicly, which will be 3 days after the initial publishing date.
- Exclusive access to our What’s In the Works series, where I let our supporters know what essays and ideas we’re currently working on and what articles they can expect in the coming fortnight. It’s short and simple, but it’s a way of keeping you in the loop.
- You’ll also be helping Areo stay ad-free to bring you the best reader experience.
Affiliate Publisher — $5 a month
You’ll receive:
- Exclusive access to our What We’re Reading series which is published every fortnight and its affiliated forum. This is where I highlight articles, books, podcasts, and videos that Areo editors and I are consuming, have consumed, or are in the process of consuming. Hosted through Patreon, it’s a great way for you to direct Areo editors (who are active and commenting in the forum) towards media, stories, and ideas we might have missed — and you can also interact and share with other Areo Publishers.
- Early access by 3 days to our Feature articles and other selected articles. Readers who aren’t supporters at the Contributing Publisher level and above must wait three days till the article is released to the public.
- Exclusive access to our What’s In the Works series, where I let our supporters know what essays and ideas we’re currently working on and what articles they can expect in the coming fortnight. It’s short and simple, but it’s a way of keeping you in the loop.
