This site is amazing and so much information in side. However, It has been over 5 weeks. I did talk to someone a few times the first day who said if I give them... the correct answers to the test they will send me my heads up concussion certificate. That person has not replyed to me in 4 weeks and I need this for the youth football team I volunteer for. This is very unprofessional not replying to my emails. I have had trouble logging into the CDC heads up site to get my concussion in youth sports certificate. I can still not log in. I do not get the email it says I am supposed to get. I looked threw all my junk mail and all other folders! If this could please be resolved in a timely manner I would greatly appreciate it. It has been over 5 weeks I have been trying to get the certificate! I work in a hospital! And I have my first aid, CPR(BLS) and AED certificates and cards. This is the only thing holding me back! I am a volunteer for my sons teams and this is a must have. Thank you for your time.
I do love the CDC heads up site! it is very informative and full of valuable information. It is very helpful to me.

I absolutely LOVE what this organization is doing in the community to bring awareness! I have seen too many individuals suffering from head related injuries. We... are SportShieldz, Inc. and would be happy to work with CDC Heads Up-Brain Injury Awareness! Being on the proactive side of head related injuries is why we make our padded protective skullcaps with Poron XRD impact dissipating foam to reduce the severity of the impact! We keep your head in the game!

Please feel free to contact me for bulk order or team/organization pricing.

Although we do not claim to prevent concussions, which nobody can, our skullcaps have been impact tested by independent labs and have proven a significant reduction in the severity of head related impacts! Our skullcaps are simply put, an extra piece of safety equipment for head related impact injuries and we also want to bring awareness to the community!

Great information, if it worked properly. The online training was a bit slow, but I was able to complete the training. However, none of the customizable mater...ials work so I cannot prepare handouts for parent and coaches meetings that are taking place next week.

When will the Customizable Materials be working?

Great, trying to save your future adult's life, since the World Health Organization & Centers for Disease Control state parents aren't ensuring youth wear helme...ts when on bikes, ATV's, horses, etc., someone must! Will you child blame you for their failed life, because employers will not hire them due to poor balance, coordination, memory, behavior issues, etc. They are children only once! Then life turns hard with laughing, teasing, false rumors, unemployment, poverty, shame, disgrace, dependency programs, good grades, 1997 Arkansas Governor's Commission on People with Disabilities Teaching Scholarship while serving as the National Organization of Disability appointtee 1994-98 for Magnolia, 1996 Harvard Ethics Fellowship, etc. Finally allowed to teach in 2007 with SubteachUSA/El Dorado Schools, but fell down since Arkansas refused accommodations & fired. Then hired to teach at Second Chance at Life, but fell down again, since Arkansas refused to provide accommodations to teach, thus another teaching job ended in December 2013. Southern Arkansas University proved in state & federal court in 1998 that I could not teach, thus the $5 million dollars to save my life from the 3-month coma was wasted! The guilt I carry for this disgrace & burden, no child should have to endure! In Arkansas, as you can see, my relative, Andrew Best, an attorney, could not ensure that I could teach school with 2 college degrees, an associate degree & a bachelor degree along with 67 teaching courses/hours from Southern Arkansas University. There ways are beyond my competence, because in Texas, the McDonads, Goodwill stores, etc., feel I am an effective teacher. I am registered with TexasTeacher org to try & teach in Texas since January 1, 2017, but it has not occurred yet. See More

Your online training takes forever to load between videos and testing. Something needs to be done about this. The information is great, but it shouldn't take this long to go through.

My son, 6 years old is recovering from a minor concussion he received by playing unorganized football during recess... He is a strong athlete and sitting out ha...s been tough. I've been reading about concussions with a child trying to wrap my head around it all because he is young and cannot express himself that well. Does he really know what a head ache is? Does he know if he "blacked out" The videos have been great to watch! I do believe he's on the way to recovery! We have a 1 week follow up this week.

I as a coach have learned in training's about concussions but it is a whole new level when actually dealing with one. I will be printing out hand out for my baseball and soccer team!

Pretty poor customer service by CDC & Heads Up...your customizable resources page does not work - the save as pdf gives 'website not found'. Called, logged call..., told someone would get back. 10 days go by. Nothing. Called again, told it is still down and nobody can say if someone is working on it, if they have received or acted on your enquiry nor can give any estimate for a fix. Unhelpful. If you have a resources website, how about you make sure it works for youth sports teams to spread the word and protect youth sports players? See More

EVERY parent should take it upon themselves to familiarize themselves with the information offered here especially if your child is active in sports,gymnastics,...cheering....any sport where there is potential for head injury. Concussions can be treated with excellent outcomes but ONLY if help is rendered in time, If not, it could easily turn into a "Why didn't we....."Don't let it happen to your loved ones. See More

I like the information on this site but wish that there was a place to post our photo's in order to show others that we may look just as normal as them but educate them as to how very different we are after a brain injury.

The page is good with an abundance of information however, one of the proactive concussion mitigators in study after study is neck strength. As a father of a so...n who has sustained three concussions, I saw nothing on the consumer market that was portable, affordable and effective so I designed and manufactured a product called the Cervifit. What is the most perplexing is when either myself or the Neurologist who assisted in it's design speak to coaches and trainers, the lack of any neck strength protocol in place. What is worse, they are implementing the applied tandem pressure technique which can cause serious injury to the participants. I think that there should be more attention paid to what can be done proactively to strengthen the neck as even your expert Dr. Kevin Guskiewicz explains the importance in detail in the video regarding the "egg toss".
