Research Services

Research Services

Research Services (or The Research Office, as most people know us) exists for one purpose, and that is to help research happen. We aim to advance the reputation and performance of James Cook University as a major international research university through best practice in research management.

Our staff are committed to creating and developing partnerships with researchers and administrative staff and strive to provide support in a professional and timely manner.

We provide assistance in the following core areas:

  • Research grants, contracts and consultancies
  • Research development and commercialisation
  • Research ethics and integrity
  • Research systems, performance data and policies

We liaise on behalf of researchers with funding bodies, industry partners, government bureaucracies and other institutions’ research offices.

Research Services supports and advances the research activities of the University through the provision of administrative, financial, reporting and information services. The office adds value to the intellectual capital assets of the University through the provision of expert and professional services in all matters relating to the University’s research-based commercial activities and legal environment.
