Mary J. Blige is urging her fans to call their senators and show support for Planned Parenthood and the Affordable Care Act. 

In a video posted to Planned Parenthood's Twitter Thursday (July 27), the iconic R&B; singer says, "If you'ew like me and you stand with Planned Parenthood, we need your voice now. Call your members of Congress and let them know why you stand with Planned Parenthood."

Two drafts of the GOP healthcare bill failed to pass through Congress on Wednesday. One had aimed to "repeal-and-replace" the so-called Obamacare and the other was simply a rollback of the federal statute. Now the Senate is looking at a new, "skinny" bill that is expected to begin negotiations with the House of Representatives on how to address healthcare in America. Despite the daily revisions made to the seminal bill, it's safe to say that each draft created by the Republican-led Congress would include major defunding of Planned Parenthood.
