The wait is finally over for Mura Masa fans. It's been months of hype, and the fresh-faced Guernsey artist backs it up with 13 smooth and sugary bite-sized tunes.

The Mura Masa LP is exemplary bedroom producer material. It's professional and sleek, capturing a variety of styles and influences that show the 21-year-old’s growth both personal and artistic. It tells a loose story of young love in 21st Century, themes of reckless abandon tempered by a strange apathy, wrapped in magical romantics.

It's tropical without cliche on opener “Messy Love” and lead single “Love $ick” feat. A$AP Rocky. Previously released tunes “1 Night” with Charli XCX and “All Around The World” with Desiigner show an understanding of modern pop radio with a strength of internal voice to push the mold.

Mura Masa still had secrets up its sleeve. Deep cut “give me The ground” is refreshing repose. The intimate acoustic take brings the listener to the quiet lamp light of his bedroom studio. The producer sings in autotune a la Bon Iver, then it's right back to steel drums and heart swell of “What If I Go?” with Bonzai.

Features are heavy on Mura Masa, perhaps none so weighty as Damon Albarn on album closer “Blu.” As Masa told Billboard Dance in May, it was Albarn’s work as Gorillaz that first inspired him to make music. “Blu” is beautiful electronic soul for dim-lighted evenings of near future. It's authentic warmth for a Netflix and chill generation.

The album also features Christine and the Queens, NAO, Tom Tripp, Jamie Lidell, and A.K. Paul. It's a solid first thesis, and while it still shows its roots and wears influences on its sleeve, it promises that forthcoming works will only get stronger.
