Oregon was the ninth fastest-growing state over the past year thanks to some 57,000 new residents.
The state grew by 1.4 percent, according to new Census estimates, twice the growth rate of the national as a whole. It reached a total population of 4.1 million residents.
The estimates represent the change between July 2016 and July 2017.
The year’s growth was faster than the state’s average since 2010, but slower than the preceding year, when the population grew by 1.7 percent.
